Windows Movie Maker.

I'm having trouble finding this. I'm using an XP media center, and I'm not sure if it comes with this. Which would be bizzare...

NECRO!
To avoid starting a new topic, I am posting here.
I am having trouble with my Windows Movie Maker and it seems to have the same problem that many other people have with it. As in freezing at critical points while I am trying to make a movie. It loves to freeze especially when I try and save the video to my computer. I hate this programme so god damn much and I was wondering is there a free/good alternative video editing software that you could recommend? If there are no free options, what do you recommend that has the best 'bang for the buck'?

I go out of my way to make sure I have nothing opened other than Movie Maker and it still does this. So, if I wait, it will unfreeze and continue to save my video? Because when I open the Windows Task Manager it always says that it is not responding.

^ That.

WMM just gonna freeze. Gotta deal.
It doesn't like sharing power, as mentioned. Also, multiple short clips, large files, and many effects will make it lag more.
I found that clearing out my imported files tends to free things up more. Of course, when I need them again, I have to reimport, but it's a small price to pay.

[edit] Skipped your last sentence, but as far as I know, most video editing programs are going to give you a hard time one way or another.

Can't speak for WMM specifically, but I can say that "Not Responding" doesn't always mean "Has crashed" Folthrik.
I never said it crashed.

I gave WMM around forty minutes to save, with all my imports deleted, and it wouldn't load. What's the approximate time I would have to wait for it to actually work? Because if it is going to take an hour or two to actually work, I am going to have to fit my time around that and plan on doing something else.

Typically depends on:
1. How big the video is naturally.
2. How much you're compressing it and/or what options you're using to save it with.
3. How long the video is.
4. How many effects and/or sequences of short clips it uses.

And sometimes it just likes to be a *****, sometimes it won't actually save at all (which you'd have to break it down and save it in pieces, then reimport and save it as a whole video then).

In my experience it tends to crash if you have insufficient virtual memory left when saving the video. After upgrading my RAM it never occurred to me anymore.
