There's a prog that let's you override the driver signature. If you like search for Driver Signature Enforcement Overrider. I did not test it, so I take completely no responsibility for what it does or not does. I don't know why there's a difference but I can assure you, there is.

It can be disabled at boot but I was asking if, in Windows 7, it's still possible to do so (and, ideally, if there is a program available to do it automatically).
