Will we get an official "Battle Royale" mode?

Those sort of games are widely popular, especially at the moment and rather than seeing mediocre mods id much appreciate if Taleworlds put some effort into a Battle Royale game mode.

For those who dont know: this would would involve 50-100 players spawning in a circle, randomly, or dropping into a specifically designed map and gathering loot/fighting until there is one player left. Naturally servers with team modes could be an option.

I personally see such a mode, if well done, easily boosting the player count, popularity and longevity of the game and have more than enough ideas for a business model; already contacted Taleworlds about this & more.

A mod could do this just fine, no need for TW to waste time on this unless as a post-launch update.

Modders for the existing modes in warband had trouble creating suitable maps and completely failed to manage their servers. Teamers ran rampant and there was no shrinking play zone, allowing people to completely delay matches.

Dont underestimate how popular these type of Battle Royale game modes are: See PUBG completely dominating Steam charts and taking over Twitch. I personally believe this would work well in Bannerlord and would play nothing else. Taleworlds and the franchise could very much benefit from this.

Of course post-launch would make sense.

If I want to play a Battle Royale game, I'll play a proper Battle Royale game, rather than a tacked on mode that doesn't really mesh with Mount and Blade.

Well good thing youre only the "Console Area Moderator". See, if we are all honest we can agree that Mount & Blade is currently dead and has been for years. Tournaments get little to no viewers, all games of the franchise have extremely low player counts and frankly people lose interest considering the long wait for Bannerlord. I like the base idea of Warband and the franchise, but in order for Bannerlord to be good there has to be alot of change happening. Nobody wants a nice looking Warband because Warband isnt a good game. New, fresh approaches are required. An easy way to see what people like is drawing inspiration from vastly popular games, see Counter Strike, PUBG, etc.

A small team of smart people could work on a Battle Royale mode which would possibly be more successful than the entire base game by itself. This is not unrealistic if you follow the industry. Time for Taleworlds to make good decisions. (Could start by hiring me, im a very smart guy)

The Mount and Blade franchise is extremely popular already, and Bannerlord is still hyped after all this time because people want it to be an upgraded Warband, not a competitor to CSGO, PUBG, or any other very different style of game.

But its objectively not. As stated, tournaments get no viewers and player counts are low. I dont just make the things i say up and am happy to list numbers if you want me to.

I really want Bannerlord to be good, this wont happen if we all just act like previous titles had no flaws.

Also, if you follow discussions/comments on the biggest Bannerlord Steam group, you can see that people indeed get frustrated about the constant delays and lack of information. Thats not even me taking any sides, its just facts.

nobody Plays tournaments, we play Sieges and Singeplayer

which Player Count ?
from steam ?
from GOG ?
from TW site ?

Throw Steam, GOG & all other users together and the player count is gonna be low.

Singleplayer doesnt matter and Siege (next to that bot mode) is possibly the most hideous, pointless and imbalanced mode Warband has to offer. Im happy to explain why if you really want me to but i dont intend to derail the topic, go ahead and message me for that.

FYI: Two or three full Siege servers arent a high or healthy player count.

so with which games do you compare M&B warband ?

what M&B really needs is better advertising and more
and Siege is the Best mode !
you Troll

I agree, Taleworlds needs better and more PR.

About Siege: First of all, modes with respawns are automatically bad. Respawns are bad game design and usually more attractive to casual players with no attention span. Siege also is extremely imbalanced, putting classes and certain weapons that already stand out as what would be considered "imbalanced" to even greater advantages. Adding to that, slowly walking up ladders and slopes is generally unenjoyable.

I misunderstood you, i thougt we are talking about Bannerlord xD , yeah i hate the Ladders in Warband and mostly there is only one attacking point and its unrealistic but in Bannerlord we get many Siege Weapons that make it easer for the attacker so im out of this Thread  :dead:

No worries mate happens to the best of us. Have a good day.

Given the map sizes the engine is touting, it shouldn't be too difficult to just make a deathmatch gamemode with no respawns. All we would have to do is place spawns in a circle and place pickup-able weapons, shields, and armor on the ground. Persistent World accomplished it in Warband. hopefully a better way to do crates/bags/pickupable arms and armor is possible in the new engine.

Otherwise I don't particularly see a reason to have it as a base gamemode. The Hunger Games style servers on Warband are fairly unpopular as it is. I don't see it improving much in Bannerlord either.

Id argue the "Hunger Games" servers are unpopular because the maps arent well designed for said mode, because highly important features such as a shrinking play area are missing, and frankly because teaming is allowed/premature admins change rules on the fly.

But yea, with a decent team behind it those things would be fairly easy to pull off.

Singleplayer is all that matters

That's fair. It's hard to admin effectively on a public server in Warband. Hopefully that'll change with Warband. As for the shrinking arena, that wouldn't be too hard to accomplish. Figure that won't get added though. After thinking about it more I do kind of like the idea for a game mode like this, though i'm still unconvinced that it should be a default mode. If the modding system is at all easy to get into I might take my own crack at making something like that though.

Eh, I only see this as a novelty that people might play for 1-2 weeks then ditch, Mount and Blade isn't the kind of game for this and to put forth time to develop something like this would be a waste of time and labor for a game focused on its single player sandbox.
