Will we be able to tell who's on our team without floating Icons?

It's no secret that if you're fighting a faction, using that faction's troups, you might have a few accidents.  The floating icon isn't realistic (and is often off screen if they're close enough, a bad distinguisher in a cluster, and so on)  so... what's the in universe explanation to being able to tell which identicle soldiers of yours aren't the identicle soldiers of the enemy, because heraldric items are a rare thing and good helmets aren't. I fail to see why there wouldn't be more friendly fire.

So, is there any chance for a feature to fix this?
Set all troops to wear green and yellow where possible.
Put this specific logo where a logo'd look good, like on a breastplate or shield that isn't heraldic.
Set my soldiers to wear an item like Tartan mantles/fur skirts/coloured bands around their helmet/ Thick scarves over their armour/specific helmet crests
Set a facepaint, tell everyone to wear beards'n dye them green, paint X patern on themselves and their armour.

Or we gonna be stuck with floating logos again?

They will carry our banner(one of them) and if they have shields our banner will be on their shields.
I am not sure about if they carry our banner in Captain mode though.

No offense, but whats wrong with the floating circles?

They look awful to me and I never play with them in Warband. They draw the eye and contrast violently with the aesthetic of the game, plus they slightly obscure my vision of what is beyond the circles. I rely on armour types to identify my troops. Sometimes this can be difficult due to similarities between Khergit and Steppe Bandit troops, or between Nords and Vaegirs (leather jerkins), but it generally works fine and is well worth it for allowing me to enjoy the game and feel immersed in it.

Not every unit uses a shield, so the point there's null. What if you've got a bunch of horse archers from the stepes, and they've got a bunch of horse archers. Everyone looks exactly the same, except the AI know who's an ally and enemy on sheer merit of being AI, and you've got some screw-immersion icons over the heads of your allies.  What if you send your shieldless infantry into a dogpile with someone else's identical infantry? At which point you can't really tell who's got an icon over their heads or what's going to be friendly fire.

Thats why I said ''if they have shields''.
In real medieval large number of troops were fighting under one single banner but in this captain mod troop numbers are very low and during fights they mix with enemy unlike real life that is why we need those icons.

In single player because we will relatively have larger troop groups just like irl one of the soldiers will carry banner.

If you aim a bow at a friendly in warband it shows their name, and you can't melee kill them.

I've never had a problem playing without the circles.

I guess it’s more realistic?

If you had 2 Roman legions fighting each other then, besides banners, there was no sure way of telling who’s who.

That is part of what made battles so chaotic and difficult to understand what was happening. Especially when you have two forces who are similar in equipment. Because you cant have one army in yellow and the other in green. Even in Roman legions their soldiers had different coloured clothes. Some word black, brown. The red colour wasn’t available to everyone. Although (I atleast think it was) red was one of the cheapest colours to dye. Besides more natural ocuring colours. So don’t believe the Total war red, green and blue Roman forces
