Will there ever be a multiplayer progression system?

Hi guys,

i simply love Mount & Blade as probably the best melee simulator that there is today as a multiplayer experience.

Nothing rivalled the feeling of riding poor peasants down with horse + spear or the soft "bop" when getting your shield poked with an arrow.

Think you all know and loved it.

BUT:

Without a progession system, that means constant character development and the possibility to choose your own weapons and colors of shields, it all fades away quickly.

There is currently no incentive for me to play multiplayer sicne i

1. cant express myself on the battelfield (e.g. character customization: the masses must be afraid of seeing me approaching!)
2. dont have any benefit of performing better than 99% of the team (killing, capturing + holding points etc.)

Conclusion, 3 questions remain:

1. Will character customization be possible in the future?
2. Will there be soem sort of benefit system for multiplayer? ]best example would be like CRPG fpr MB Warband, which was just awesome]
3. Will there be battle maps (awarding XP?)

Without at least 2 of the 3 questions being answered with yes, i cant see myself playing bannerlord anymore.

If yes, can you pls specify a rough

TIMELINE for that to happen?

All the best & see you on the siege field

[other than that: FANTASTIC GAME with a lot of potential]

Afaik the devs promised something in that regard.

For that you'll have to wait til CRPG will be remade for BL. But I guess when ranked MM will be done you can consider your rank as a benefit?

mount and blade is different
u make ur reputation by ur name,
i agree about customizing ur equipment like in warband
but progressing system and locked stuff i don't agree
we come here to cut steel and block steel, thats it
and it's super fun

there really is no incentive to play multiplayer, heck even mordhau lets you unlock cosmetic gear and such locked by levels. bannerlord? no point. you are simply just killing time with no reward or sense of achievement.maybe im wrong but i dont think theres a single multiplayer game out there with 0 progression online? every game has something

Mount and blade multiplayer has always been more of arcade style gameplay. Why go away from this? It worked so well in warband

There's already an XP leveling system it would stand to reason there will be some progression tied to it eventually.

Can you guess if the team has plans to update the multiplayer section? I guess not.

You mean the MP section that was just updated a few times? The one that has an entire developer team dedicated to it? Why do certain people keep assuming the worst lol.

In progress. More details soon.

Bless the Cosmos and your code! Thank you for an answer, I am interested to see what might be brewing in the pot
I can say that the most time I have ever spent in Warband (which is too many hours) has been spent in c-RPG and similar online mods, where you have your own character(s), that you create and edit, and then you play to earn experience and gold to use for equipment and skills. Super fun.

I hope you guys are working on something similar. That would truthfully give this game incredible longevity, the multiplayer part.

You know the point playing any video game, first and foremost, is to have fun, right? If "unlocking content" is your primary motivation to play a video game, you really are not having any fun at all.

say that to every other multiplayer game that has that except this one? and this multiplayer isnt fun so it has nothing going for it bro

I think unlocking purely cosmetic armors for levels or class proficiency would be a cool features (like in chivalry or mordhau) but anything that affects gameplay shouldn't be added as a progression.
