Will the beta be closed?

As it is, I imagine quite a large percentage of people are still playing using the .860 game files. It seems odd to me that after the game's full version release, players would still be able to play a decrepit version of it just by using the serial from the original M&B.

But, at the same time, I don't mind having the beta still open so that those who still haven't upgraded to the full release version for whatever reason, still have a chance to play.

If someone is hosting their own server, however, I wonder if it's perfectly ok to host whatever version of the game that you want!

I imagine there's a few days leeway, and then beta keys will no longer be accepted.

Even if you host your own server it still goes through the TW computer, which checks your key.

Sounds reasonable. It's just a matter of changing what keys they check before letting you into the game.
