Will smithing ever be fixed or at least rebalanced?

While we're talking about smithing, I thought I'd display what happened when I decided to let yet another of my companions have a whack at it. (I have 4 others that regularly smith for me, with smith levels up to about 220! Mine is only 192.)

I reveal that ONE shot at a decent javelin is worth - not 1, not 2, not 3 Smith points, but...

On crafting his 2nd javelin, he went up a level.

Well, as far as my experiments go: High damage => high value => high skill gain. Smithing has potential but is just broken at the moment.

My suggestions would be:
  • Get rid of stamina, just let ingame time pass.
  • Smelting weapons just returns crude iron but unlocks one to all unknown parts of the smelted weapon depending on smithing skill and weapon tier.
  • The sell value of crafted weapons is limited to raw material value + a small percent value increase per weapon tier. (you should be able to make a profit with smithing, but not those ridiculous values)
  • Enable shield, bow and perhaps armor crafting.
  • Crafted weapons don‘t show up in stores or tournaments. At least as long as they are not sold.

But what's ridiculous is when you get people saying that the grind is fine, or that the overall experience is fun, then citing their 300 hours.
Try keep in mind that your enjoyment =/= other people's enjoyment. While I don't love grinding, I don't hate it. Sometimes I need to take a break from it, but there are times it's almost like meditation to me. I can just grind away and it doesn't bother me. Of course that depends on the mood I'm in. Just because someone has more of a tolerance for it than you doesn't mean they're somehow lying.

Just so you know I'm not bs about how many hours I've played.

There is still so much that needs to be done, but this game is so compelling even as is and Idk why.
Eh i grinded too many dungeon RPG's to be bothered by a grind when I used to spend hours repeating a dungeon to get a 6% drop that i was gonna use 3 times since on the next dungeon i got the 2% mega OP item on the first ****ing try and just cheating in games unless im just ****ing around it just makes gameplay less fun

I hope this never gets fixed, in combination with the "receive 2 focus and 1 attribute point per level" mod, this is awesome to get your and your companions focus points and attributes maxed out. Having some fun running around with 3 heroes and all 4 of us armed with powerful crafted Berdiche axes fighting bandits and roaming around looking for some nice armour combination to wear. I also have a mod that gives a chance to get the elite stuff as loot from enemies so that sometimes gives some nice stuff, from sea raiders you can get a helmet stronger than anything you can buy in Sturgia and worth 50k gold. Once we all have maxed out Athletics and two handed I'm going to start recruiting an army

Indeed but the action part never gets old for me as in warband  Sure a break is needed here and there due to irl stuff and as it is in every game i play but its always rewarding for me coming back doing a new character making a new adventure even if the game isnt in an finished state
