Will other Lords join my battle?

Hi all

I believe this happened once to me, but maybe just a fluke: If I'm with Swadia (and have 40 soldiers) and another Swadian Lord is chasing a 70 Strong Nord Party over the map... if I cut off the Nords and engage them in battle before the other guy has caught them, will he show up in the fight (if he was very close to them?) Or will I end up fighting an oversize army on my own?

I had this exact scenario yesterday, and what I ended up doing was trying to get the Nords to flee from me, back to the much stronger other Swadian Lord, and THEN I joined their battle. But I could swear I once engaged some Khergits on my own and suddenly had a bunch of allies in the fight...

Allies can intercept battles, so yes your friends would join you if they were close enough.

Not sure how big the interception range is though.

Aye, thanks. I recon once the 3d scene loads (the actual battle map) it's closed to any newcomers, so the intercept likely must happen while you catch and talk with the enemy on the text screens...

That means next time I can make live easier by just stopping the runaway and hope that the Swadian allies are close enough.

You'll see a notification once you enter the chat menu, something like; "Count Harringth joins the battle on your side".

Just one caveat, if the nearby lord has a negative relation with you he will not join you in battle.

However, if a lord is following you and you lay siege to a castle/town and you're NOT the marshal on a campaign, he won't help you for no reason.
