I somewhat agree that it would be ****ty to have someone walk in and blow your head off, but if this is really trying to replicate the Wild West, or any time period for that matter, you set rules, and the players choose if they want to abide by them (Combat-Logging/Exploiting Glitches and such not a part of this).  It's against the law today to walk up and shoot up a store, but people do it anyways.  It's against the law to walk up to someone in an alley and stab the **** out of them, people do it anyways, so it should be against the law to walk up and blow Johns head off, but we can still do it anyways.  If you have a Sheriff Faction, they will be the ones to make sure that citizens uphold these laws/rules, again, this doesn't include stuff like combat-logging, exploiting glitches, and so on.

Secondly, you say you wont have an "Official" server?  I would highly recommend getting an official server if this mod ever gets finished, you need to have the player-base in one server when you start out, you want 50 people on one server, not 4 in one server, 2 people in another, etcetera.  Best of luck on the Mod, I look forward to playing it if it gets released!

@Austro: I hear DannyEle has designed a scene prop of sorts, or something like that, for Persistent World that makes it so players cannot harm each other when standing on it/in it's radius or something.

If that's true, then that could use used to designate safe zones and PvP zones which would eliminate tons and tons of admin dependency and ensure players don't get pooped on at the same time.

I would suggest taking a look at these Maximus:

Try contacting Gab and see if he would let you use some things, I will look for some more stuff (Inspiration/OSP/Etc.)

*Will modify this post as I find more stuff*

@froi Thanks for the links. I've contacted Gab and Vornne. Havn't heard from Gab yet and Vornnes not interested. If I could get Gab on board then that would help a ton so hopefully he'll join up. I need to find a coder because I personally want to focus on modelling and scene creation.

Gab doesn't know how to code using the module system. I wouldn't have him on board IMO.

Also, contact shredzorz for the resources from Wild Wind.

He has really good models though. I sent shredzorz a message. Austro do you have a link to a good tutorial on how to make new items such as guns, clothes, props etc? Also one that uses blender instead of Wings.

Go to The Forge, Google, and YouTube.  Everything you need to know will be there.

Sorry for late reply but I am off the Forum and unable to monitor my own Topics due to real serious issues that happened to me, in addition to my very busy life.

Anyway, I still have some projects that were progressing and are not dead, such as a PW western.

All that above said, it is sadly obvious that I have no interest for any new project and unfortunately for U, no even time to help...and neither enough time for my own things, atm.

I helped as much as I could in those years, many newbies and friends. But now I cannot anymore.

In my opinion is always better to ask permissions BEFORE and then having something done, before U open a Topic on a project, even if the work that U did is very primitive.
I did like that with my first Mod, 1755 Old Frontier and it took tons of work to have it progressing, after that.

Be ready to face intense trolling and some people never happy, though, ...because that will occur for sure.

Best luck

Gab
