Wife not getting pregnant

Yeah, mine is quite fertile.
I kept her at our capital and spent 2 years in campaining, just got news she's pregnant again. It's a miracle! I bet our next soon is the future emperor messiah! Good thing I left my good companion Igar Widow's Lust looking after her and protecting my assets.

I have had it in 2 separate playthroughs now. I marry Liena ( one of the the vassals of the Vlandians, one of those who have their own parties etc). Both times it has happened that she does not get pregnant even after a whole ingame year. Ive had her in my party, in a castle or roaming a round no luck. Any body else have this issue ? is it a bug is there a fix ? Help please

I have Liena as a wife in my party and she doesn't stop getting pregnant or kicking ass. Did you try waiting somewhere for a little bit? I did that the first time I knocked her up. I don't know if it's necessary but now she gets pregnant about 4 seconds after delivering a child without waiting.

Lucky!

I got 6 kids so far last 2 where twins and they happened without being in party with spouse guess resting in town that spouse is in works to. What I find strange female kids get sKill points from start but males get no skills but get traits instead.

For me it was the other way around (that was about patch 1.0.7) My wife ended up getting about 7 kids in 2 years, all the girls had 0 in all stats but traits like generous and merciful, my boys had stats but no traits.

Yo man I cant even get a date!! How do you initiate with women here -I see some hanging out in castles but I have no options to talk about anything at all except "You wanna play Scrabble..?"

If she does get pregnant while "roaming around", there might be other problems....

On serious note, seems ITT that people are having very different outcomes, even with same spouse (Liena DOES seem a rather popular choice, lol). I suspect that one speculation above is likely; a randomly-generated "fertility stat" of some sort that we can't see. Heck, CK2 has that; it's just visible. And obtw it might not be her...it might be you.

Although if BL really is supposed to develop into a multi-generational dynastic game, then possibility of a infertile starting character or spousal choice - combined with lack of transparency such that the player doesn't even know it - seems problematic.

Eventually the dialogue options will open up, at least with unmarried women within your own faction. I don't know if the threshold is Clan Tier 3, or being a vassal, or owning a fief, exactly. I didn't pay close enough attention. But yeah, at a stage of the game where I met all those possible critieria, I started looking for a wife (mainly because I wanted a governor for my castle without having to lose a companion, lol), and at least the Vlandian (i.e., own-faction) maidens had the relevant dialogue options available. I didn't try talking up other factions' candidates, so I don't know if it's faction-limited or not.

Edit: since the game main quest provides a path to proceed straight to "own kingdom" without ever being a vassal, it would make sense that the marriage dialogue mechanic wouldn't be limited to faction-only. Clan relations (another possible criterion) might make it harder though.

Everytime i rest in my castle with my wife for a period of time. The news she is with childs comes. I like that dynamic!

Ahh thanks didn't know it was your faction only - ill report back if I get to first base

Just to re-emphasize, I did NOT say it was "own-faction-only". I worded the statement that way because I've only tried within faction so far, so that's all I could verify. I'm sure other folks could substantiate what happens when talking to other-faction marriage candidates, under what conditions.

I'm on my 3rd game. First two my wife was popping out kids left and right. This time, 3rd year of marriage and no children. I've tried having her in my party, leading her own party and following me, in my town with me waiting in town for days, everything.

I'm going to assume it's bugged until we discover some type of hidden infertility stat (which would be BS, imo). So I'm just going to use the developer console to make my wife pregnant to get a few children.

If anyone else has this issue of a wife not getting pregnant for years, just grab the dev console mod and in game press ctrl+shift+~ to bring up the console, then type campaign.conceive_child

I keep trying to give poor Ira a break but every time I go home to Zeonica there seems to be another daughter. And since I'm around there a lot for many obvious reasons, including the fact that it's one of the best spots in the whole map to farm War Horses (5 horse villages within a reasonable distance of Zeonica)... you can probably do the math.
