Why Win.Rar?

Hi'

I have been looking almost the whole Forum, but couldn't find anything.
I really like using mods, but I can't really find out using win.rar. (or whatever it's called ).
And there is a lot of probably great mods i can't play, because i can't find out using win.rar.
So my question is: Why don't you, when you make a mod, don't make it so you have to extract the files to a specific map (spelled right?)


And if anyone would tell me how to do it with win.rar, it would be very nice. Maybe with pictures ( pictures makes everything much easier)

Zip formats are extremely common, just google 'zip'.

Start here. Go find yourself a new version to download. Don't try to buy it, it's shareware and should work well besides the nagging screen.
Anyways, you should install it, and the bugger should let you open rar files (and many other archives), as well as aunpack them.

It's not exaclty rocket science, you only need to remember where did you install your Mount&Blade, the default I believe is something like
c:\Program Files\Mount&Blade
Just go check for it. When in doubt, use windows seach function and type in Mount & Blade.

When you find it, locate the mods folder there, it should contain the 'Native' Folder. You can search for that one too using windows search.
You have to unpack the mod into the mods directory.

And this is simple, either open the rar file with winrar, select Extract to... then tell it where to put the files
(just copy the whole thing: c:\Program Files\Mount&Blade\Mods --- IF this is the place where your M&B is, if not, change it.)
Or the easier way, drag and drop the rar file using right mouse button into the Mods folder and select Extract to from the menu.

But when i try to extract the files it says: "Stien blev ikke fundet" (which is danish, and means: Path not found )

so did not work

Try the drag and drop method then. You'll have to locate the M&B folder anyways. Search "My Computer" (I mean your computer) for "Native" and it should find something.

thanks.. now i think it should be extracted.
i just took a mod called Might&Blade.

its now in: Computer - OS (C - programs - mount&blade - modules - native - might and blade
(i'm using vista)

but what now? i cant find the mod. you know, how to install The mod, so that i can find it when i open Mount&blade, and can choose wich mod i wanna use.

Awright, I've mislead you a bit. Sorry for being confusing.
You put mods into the 'modules' directory, not into 'native'. Native itself technically acts like one of the mods.
I just told you to look for native, since it's easiest to find.

So it should be:
Computer - OS (C - programs - mount&blade - modules -  might and blade

So just go in there and move it up.
