To make a good management game, management should be played almost as an alternative to war, but that will never be possible in Bannerlord.

Why will it always be a bad management game?

- Normally, there should be a system to develop fishing, hunting (even being able to hunt oneself to survive), to develop many economic activities without the need to "wage war" to get rich while fun. It is impossible today, or if you develop your workshops and your businesses without participating in a war, remaining neutral, the game becomes deeply boring and stupid.

- in the game we can only hunt men (yes!), we can neither hunt animals, nor breed ourselves, nor even develop our fishing skills. Consequences: there is objectively only one branch to develop in the long term, that of warriors or more exactly of "warlord". This is the meaning of this game, and there will never be another.

For these reasons, imagining a kingdom "management" game makes little sense, there are too many skill branches missing for that. Obviously you can have caravans and workshops and there are some skills for that. But we are far from having a fun and functional "merchant game" or "caravanner game". It just gets boring quickly. The game is not and never will be a Kingdom management game.

- many ask for more diplomacy. The game will never be a good diplomacy game because it would take more skills for that. Skills are essentially made for war even if the charms, trades, roguery branches could make you think otherwise, the ultimate goal of everything is war. For good diplomacy, the "merchant game" would have to be better developed, which is impossible, because trade and diplomacy go hand in hand.

It is for this objective reason that only RPG development makes sense to make the game less boring. Everything else is gimmicky, "superficial modification" and "plastic", all those who "believe" (because it is really about belief) that this game could evolve into a game of diplomacy and kingdom management are wrongly mistaken. Objectively, it is impossible.

It will be necessary to admit that the skills of this game are made above all to carry out the war or dangerous missions in group.

So, only the introduction and implementation of a more substantial RPG dimension could give full reasons to these skills by introducing real quests, real lore, "bosses" to kill, in short, by developing a real RPG of Warlord. This game could be a really good RPG and it will never be a good management game.

To say otherwise is delusional.

How about a real game?

Modders make different troops, stronger, weaker, and? what ? Nothing, no interest.

Modders make prettier armor... No interest.

Modders make a more rpg game like "Land of Sika"... Finally an interesting game, but why a mod? Why isn't it included in the game? Why isn't the native version more fun? Why doesn't the word "ludique" exist in English, don't they have any idea what "playfull" means?

A game is called any metaphorical process resulting from the decision taken and maintained to implement a more or less coordinated set of schemes consciously perceived as random for the realization of a theme deliberately conceived as arbitrary. »
