The bayonet is now one of the weakest melee weapons in the game, worse than that of the russian Opolchenie weapons by a large margin (with the exception of those that are unable to block)
Here's where I just laughed to be honest. You are saying, that the bayonet is now the weakest weapon in game, because people who play Opolchenie can block? This have nothing to do with the weapons being used, this is down to player skill. A person who play's Opolchenie all the time, will 98% of the time get melee weapons. Hence, if they play constantly with melee weapons, they will probably get pretty damn good at melee.
It's the exact same with the bayonet. Someone who constantly use's bayonet in melee, will in time become pretty damn good at it, and when they are faced with a guy using Opolchenie, or a sword etc. It's down to player skill. Not the weapon being used.
Sabre briquets wielding classes are now far more powerful than non-sabre briquet wielding classes, greatly harming the balance of certain factions such as the british empire.
A good player with the bayonet will be able to defeat Sabre Briquets. Also, most people drop their Sabre Briquets on spawn, or don't even switch weapon from the bayonet. You are exaggerating the power
Bayonet verses bayonet combat is now entirely determined by the first person who decides to follow a backpedaller, attempts an overhead attack, performs a chamberable stab, or thuds, rather than individual ability.
Bayonet verses bayonet combat is now entirely determined by the player with better blocking, attacking and if they can, chambering ability. Whereas back in 1.005 it was down to who spammed the overhead the most, because it was hideously broken and inconsistent
This update must immediately be reverted lest the game be entirely determined by backpedalling and thudding.
The game had thudding in it a hell of a lot before the patch, so their isn't any changes their. And people did backpedal before the patch aswell, but now instead of backpedalling to then use the inconsistent upstab in a little run forward.

On a side note, my Cavalry regiment realises the slight buff that has been given to us, so last night at training we tested out the longer reach of the swords used by cavalry.
Half of the cavalry went infantry, and the other half went Heavy/light Cav. And the cavalry were tasked in 1on1 duels to test out and train in killing infantry with the longer reach.
The first 5 times I faced a Cavalry member (most of whom are better at Cavalry than I am at infantry) still fell to my bayonet due to a miscalculation in positioning. Then after a little while, the Cavalry began to win.
A lot of the time, it was just the horse that was killed, and so a sword vs Bayonet duel was to be had out. and it was about 60/40 to the Cavalry Swords, probably due to my about average or less than average skill at infantry. But if a good infantry player was in my place, they would do a lot better.
Just my two Pence, But I really like this patch. From a Cavalry and Infantry standpoint.
