I hate all non-christians and exterminate any who do not follow my belief. I laugh and insult any other type of belief system, since they are infidels. I live in my nonexistent basement preaching the word. I have also killed fifty people this week for saying they were atheist. What idiots.

If it's any consolation, I'm not one that thinks Christians are bad people, i just don't get how you could hold the beliefs you do, but i'm sure you'd say the same, so there's really point in arguing.

It's hard for me to explain. I believe in it, because I feel really strong about it. By I'm not saying science (or whatever religion you believe in) is bad. I know some Christians that are extremists, and say science is a work of the devil. Which makes no sense at all.

I truly thank the Bible was mangled during medieval times. Since it was so strong then, and a lot of people could not read, the priests (probably also the pope) probably did what guspav thought. Bent and shaped it to their convenience. And since not everyone could read, no one would have been able to know wether what they were being told was really from the Bible.
At least, that's what I think.

The Bible never once says that women are substandard. Find me one Biblical quote which directly says that women are substandard and I'll eat a texta.
I'd rather believe that there is some higher purpose and that our lives mean something.
I'd consider it rather bleak to think that I've got one mortal life and then I'm gone.
That being said I will attempt to respect other people's beliefs and values, despite that I will not stand idly by while people bash the Bible and promote their own views (which may be far more ludicrous to me than Christianity is to them.)
I will fight for my beliefs in every way that does not compromise my Christian values. I believe that God is meant to take vengeance... but that doesn't mean I can't have a little bit of fun along the way; poking hypocritical people and know-it-alls in the head with a sharp stick from time to time.
Now note that I attempt to refrain from 'bagging' athiests or those of other religious views. Just because I have to respect what others say, doesn't mean that I have to accept their views as true.
If we could all just keep our insults to ourselves we'd have far less pointless word battles on both Taleworlds and in the real world.
Why is it that religion vs. science and/or other religion battles stir up controversy so often?

For the argument that women are inferior in the bible (and koran) a common response from the theistic side is that god made them different, for different roles. Most believers will never admit that one is inferior to the other in the text but will insist instead that god is just doling out areas of responsibility (no women teachers, priests, etc). In the Koran it even explicitly says that it takes two women to equal the word of one man in court as women are likely to forget and need another woman to remind them. .
To a non-believer its obvious that these are bronze age (or dark age) patriarchal cultures who wouldnt know equality if it bit them in the ass. So of course it was part of their local mythology.
There is always the classic biblical law to stone your daughter to death if she's not a virgin on her wedding night. Nothing about killing your non-virgin son. I wonder how many girls died because the didnt bleed enough to establish virginity? Well, the gods will sort it out eh?

It's probably unfair to lump every person who believes in any god under the same label. They don't all insist that their beliefs are better than that of a fairy believer. Many might believe it, some might proclaim it, most probably never give it a second thought!
Fact is, people who hate Christians (amongst other religious groups) and Christians who hate people who hate Christians are all the same kind of intolerant and narrow minded idiots they accuse each other of being. They both read the bible and take it completely literally, then bash the other group because of what's written in the bible.
The Bible is a flawed text containing the writings of countless different authors, all with different motives and experiences. To use the whole book as a universal truth, or to say that the book is being used as a universal truth is basically the same mistake.
My point is that people should stop being randomly intolerant and sit back and reflect a little on the wider picture, rather than just mindlessly stereotyping.

I think what I hate most about Christianity is the wider picture. Christianity, Judaism, and Islam are artifacts of dominator culture- there would be an equivalent whether or not there was a Jesus or Mohammed. We shape our religions to agree with our way of life.Cleaning Agent 说:

As long as people have differing views, there'll be some idiot with a gun or a bomb willing to attack someone who doesn't agree with them in the name of God/Allah/-insert deity of choice here-. The majority of wars in history have had at least some racial/religious pretext behind them, even if it was just: 'You're different, so we'll kill you.' Fair point about Buddhism though: i've never heard of a war begun by a Buddhist, at least, a real practicing one, rather than just a family.

"Exploding rock." I see someone skipped out on Astro 110. The evidence is everywhere. It is logic, not mythology. Blackbody radiation, the redshifting of galaxies, and even the chemical makeup of the universe indicates the event of the Big Bang or something like it.
