Why is Reinforced Wicker Square Shield nerfed???

They rebalanced shields for some reason. The price of a shield seems to be highly dependent on it's tier and not it's stats. I have two shields in my current game with almost identical stats. The tier 6 shield is two and a half times more expensive than the almost identical tier 5 one. The wicker shield being downgraded to tier 4 is part of the reason why it is now worth so much less.

I am of the opinion that the tier of a shield, weapon or armor should not be a factor in it's pricing, only the items relevant stats.

It was done in 1.2.0 if I remember right. You can find it in the changelogs. They wrote that they have brought all shield values in line with materials they are made of.
 
Shields were rebalanced.

There were some absurd oddities, such as t6 crappy wooden shields with significantly more HP than iron shields.

I haven't seen every shield in the game after the Renaissance, but from my observation so far they did a pretty good job realigning everything closer to how it should be.
