i really like this game but its really hard to enjoy when you have no cash. i tried tournaments, but i came out with less money than i started, even though i won every battle. then i tried to do some quests and i didnt have the money to support a band of peasents. someone help me, and if there are any money cheats, please let me know.

Here are the cheats. And remember that there is a search function available in the forum...

well thanks for linking me to the cheats, but sadly, they do not work...

does anyone have any good strategys that they used to make their fortunes? keep in mind that i am only a lvl 3 char.

Look at the stickies on top. Especially the "Strategy, Tactics and Tips Compendium" sticky. Cheats won't work if you have demo version.

Look for parties called 'Dark Hunters' or some such. They usually leave good loot behind when you've killed them.

Quests
Take a mace or club, a couple of large bags of rocks, and give Marnid and Borcha the same. Do the entire pirate quest. Result is 85-105+ gold per fight.

Trade - Either give yourself or Marnid 3-5 points in trade and become traders. Search the forum for a trade map, or find a decent route yourself.

Loot
Picking up batttle loot is a decent way to raise cash, once you can take on a small party of steppe raiders, khergits, or sea raiders.

There are many decent ways to make money, tournaments are good for betting, but not until you have enough skill to take out three opponents by yourself, and by that time you will realize they are just a quick fight and not the way to go.

That's evil. The 'Dark' parties are the toughest ones around, and if you're only a Lvl. 3, you should absolutely avoid them at all costs. Bad Roach, bad! Trying to trick an innocent fighter into suicide. For shame.

Because... Dranton got jealous and pickpocketed him!

I personally like searaiders, that's when you have low to average infantry with you I mean (Vaegir footmen, Swadian militia etc.). And steppe bandits are quite easy if you have a fast horse, and preferably some friendly horsemen with you.

And believe what I say, son, I just lost everything I had a while ago, then built a new party (which was at that time crappy, like peasants and stuff), and noticed a manhunter band fighting searaiders. Well I went in too, and got stuff like nasal helmets, mail hauberks etc. so much I could take some for myself and still got enough to sell!

Well I'm been lucky lately anyways, just found a 8-man riverpirate party which had Vaegir knights&horsemen as prisoners :D

hahahah, yeah...that is pretty mean

Heres one way to make cash.Make yourself a merchant sell your salt to the Zendar merchant because they pay well for salt ask them what they buy and sell in Zendar. They sell tools cheap sell the tools to who they said to.the next town will sell some thing cheap so then you can reapet it. I found it a good way to make money. But I must warn you your not going to be rich dead fast but you will earn cash.I just use cheats  so i don't need to do this.

get your prisoner skill up some and you can make 20 denar per prisoner you sell. I've had the most success with this as a combat character.
If you decide to train trade and inventory management, mr_cheat's explaination works well too.

If you're leaving a tourney with less money after a win, talk to the tourney npc again, he gives you the winnings afterward.

I LOVE the steppe traderoute! Starting from saltmine, I go to Halmar, sell the salt for little profit, buy some pottery, then go to Jelkala via Veluca to sell it and boom, I have lots of cash. Now, I most likely have got some prisoners and battle loot on the way (or will get 'em en route back to the salt mine), so I'll sell the items to Veluca and the slaves to salt mine. Then, take some salt again and...

And the best thing is, with my army consisting mostly of horsemen, I can easily run from the darkhunter party which patrols in the area with many prisoners (that's not something for everyone, I'm just lucky) even when carrying the goods!

But seriously, as if having the higher prices and such doesnt make the game a hell of alot more interesting to play, and for longer periods of time at that! just trying to get that reinforced whatsit and balanced thingamajig.

Having a tough economy just helps in making the game last longer.

What's the fun in receiving 200 gold for selling a stack of arrows ?

I think the difference between sell and buy is a little steep (kinda like a Cash Convertor economy), but it all makes it so much more worth while if you get some good loot.

I think that lowering the prices would be good because earning enough money for good armor and good sword etc takes way to long.I got to bored earning money the hard way and resorted to cheats.I love cheats! :P
