Why I Don't Use This Weapon

Least Favourite = Stone. Low Accuracy (it being so small), and low damage.

2nd least favourte = crossbow. What a useless junk with its reloading speed. I rather use a club and bash the kids up then use a crossbow.

I still love using thr.axes and javelins/jarids and shoot them at 85 degrees up and wait for the enemy to reach me in time for a headshot

I don't know why but I only use blades that can be thrusted and slashed purely for the diversity of attacks it allows me.

I love the idea of lances and the way they work in this game and I often start the battle with one drawn just to take my first opponent then I pull out a balanced sword of war to finish the enemy.

So they are the weapons I do use and I pretty much won't use anything else because they just don't appeal to my fighting style.

Blunt weapons just don't have a high enough damage output, pikes, spears other polearms just seem like defensive rather than offensive weapons. Scythes, and other small weaponry isn't worth mentioning considering its something the local peasantry has grabbed from the field.

However most weapons I find have a great sense of realism in this game. I still want to see a good noise for lance punches though!

I found bows hard. I mean hard to learn. Arrows drop steeper than bolts and doesn't do good damage (I'm talking about the beginning of the game).

My least favourite weapons are bow, sledgehammer (slow blunt weapon), staff.

Why everyone hates crossbow? I love it! I use it as a mounted crossbowman would do. Run somewhere safe (close to companion, etc), shoot bolts from afar and mount on horse for melee when they close.

crossbows don't need skill, it's not an honourable weapon, knights used to despise crossbow users for that reason, and on some occasions they slaughtered every crossbowman after a battle, just to show how much they despised them. because with the invention of the crossbow it was suddenly possible for the common untrained peasant to kill a knight who had trained all his life

True enough, in that crossbows required less training than regular bows, and certainly not the strength training of the longbow. However, English longbowmen were just as despised by their foes, and were often slaughtered as well - or had their string drawing fingers cut off.

And even before the crossbow, it was still possible for untrained peasants to kill knights - it just generally required lots of 'em, and a dirk to an armpit / eye slot or other weak point.

Why does everyone hate the sledgehammer? I love it! i ride around my enemies firing arrows into them then just whip out the sledgehammerand knock em out.

Least favourite weapon would be either the lance or the rocks because with the lance if you have that and a bow ur screwed if u stop and the rocks cause they dont do any damage (good if enemies have them).

Biggest problem with the game is I find it too easy. I can have the settings on 107% and still kick the arse of 20 dark knights.

Polearms' main advantage is its reach. It should be more sharply implemented in the game I guess.

but i cant cope with the fact that you have to stand still to reload it. a standing fighter = dead fighter in my point of view.
But look how you are reloading it. I would like to see you to grabb a real crossbow, place your foot in the hole, run around and trying to reload it. It could either take a very long time, if you would at least succeed, or you will have an arrow shot in your foot.

i hate the stones! they are a curse on humanity with their feeble range, accuracy and damage. The river pirates use them and they do nothing! i get headshots every time with stone throwers because i know there is no need to dodge their stones! dodging only increases your chance of getting hit. My crossbow rules em anyday!

Um rabid potato, i don't think the other forum members will appreciate having to read posts squashed a centimetre thin.

quoted for truth. don't you notice how screwed up the threads you post in are? they are so hard to read, and even harder for people at low resolution.

ARRGH!!!
You are ruining the forum, you stupid, arrogant person!
Have some respect for people stuck on dial-up!

ok i on the other hand would appreciate the stop-flaming, and yes rabid please smaller that pic of urs.

I hate any straight sword. I had a balanced bastard sword that was supposed to do like 35 damage and I used it for a while, but my watered steel scimitar (damage 29) consistently did more damage than the stupid bastard sword! give me a nomad sabre or a scimitar... any other sword is crap.

Crossbows. I use them if given them to start with, but they're too slow for my taste. Goes for the guns too.

I actually find the heavier crossbows to be excellent weapons against infantry. What I do is, I fire my crossbow on horseback, ride away a safe distance, dismount, reload, fire, reload, ride off and fire. Repeat.

I absolutely hate stabbing weapons- they're easy to dodge and usually are too slow for my tastes.

I hate any weapon the low level people carry, clubs, sickels etc. Also I gotta agree with the lance thing, the high dmg is good but its just not fast enough, I can ride around with a mourning star and smash 5 times as many people
