Everyone has a favorite weapon, but what's your least favorite? Why is it your last weapon of choice?
I don't use lances or any weapon that relies on "couched lance damage."
A great weapon, massive damage and Lord knows I keep getting the lance to practice with when I'm in the arena, but it has a few less attractive features.
*No good sound effects All I get is some text on the left side of the screen saying "Delivered 125 points Couched Lance Damage" otherwise I'm in a silent movie. I'm playing for a visceral feel, a thrill of combat and not for efficient killing.
*No good impact animation There should be some difference to lancing someone at 40 miles an hour than to have him fall off his horse like he's drunk.
*Needs room to start runThis is actually my least objection to the lance since you inherently need some space to begin your "run" that just goes with the weapon. What I dislike is that movement will often cause the lance to raise with no hit, and missing is all too easy. This objection can be reduced with practice true, so I listed it last.
In general, I like to mix it up with the enemy and help my troops get XP by knocking their opponents down or I like to support my troops with missile fire. The lance isn't as useful to me in that role as other weapons are.
Rather than debate my choice, what's your least favorite weapon?
