Why can't I get a castle?

I am Allied with the Welsh and have taken three Irish castles, and everyone of them has been given to another Lord.  What do I have to do to get a castle???

Why would you not wanna be Irish?
And it probably depends on your renown

Yes it probably does. Try fighting other lords instead of castles, up your renown, then try taking a castle
