hey there is no forum in the dev blog, or a section for me to make a thread about it,
so i thought i would put this here

not trying to be funny but im not impressed at all
we are a good 2 and a half years from bannerlords annoucement `trailer` which consisted of writing and groaning

the `blogs` are few and far between this one took months to arrive,

and beyond the first few lines it was just a basic fantasy mixed with reality history lesson of life 2 milleniums ago, without saying anything about game play/ game goals/ new features nothing

and the screenshots still say work in progress

this is a very good 2 - getting near to 3 years since the annoucement was made

i appreciate the taleworlds team isnt exactly ign or ea with a unlimited budget but i havent seen anything in previous blogs or screenshots that doesnt look like it isnt from a polished mod with enhanced graphics or any of the other 1000s of mods for warband since 2010.

this isnt a huge multi platform game like gta which had weeks worth of audio and an unreal amount of graphics etc, this is just `the next level in warband` which whilst we are all excpecting improvements, nobody is excpecting something of the magnitude of gta

so pardon me for not being that excited, but when we are waiting quarter of a year for a blog which says virtually nothing about gameplay or featuers, it doesnt say much for the team

nice sugar coat though,  the way they got your attention talking about factions and then just rambled and waffled on for 5 paragraphs about absolutly nothing.

I'm impressed with them so far. I don't follow publicity for other games so I guess I don't have a point of reference to form any outrage about blogging...

Oh, it's awful M.
In comparison (and in a game that I would argue is much more complex), the 1C//777 Studio team have been pushing out weekly updates and blogs about the latest IL2 : Battle of Stalingrad flight simulation.

What TaleWorlds are doing is, frankly, pathetic.

Wouldn't worry too much, their PR sucking doesn't mean their gamedev does (as proven IMO).

Game might not have top notch graphics but I personally don't care it's otherwise is good, graphics in games long since passed the limit where further improvements make a large difference. Also specifically for M&B: To have a huge number of troops on field, some concessions must be made compared to games where 20 soldiers is considered "an army".

Now I did sound like an apologetic fanboi but oh well

bra bra

Well it is true that the Mount & Blade franchise has always seemed to have trouble with PR. I hope they will be able to learn from their mistakes in it, and it could well be that their resources are limited in a way that also greatly limits their PR capacities.

What the hell is wrong with some people?

It hasn't even been 5 years that the trend of pushing short frequent updates has existed. If the devs don't want to do that, then get over it. You make me feel old and make yourselves look like spoiled brats.

You got to remember that Taleworlds isn't Rockstar or EA, and doesn't have millions of dollars or a 200 member dev team. From what I remember Taleworlds only has 40 some people working for them.

i mentioned that point in my OP

the point is, this game should not be taking so long, and if it is..
dont you think they should be showing more such as game play clips..
and give more info about game features/ goals etc?

if they cant provide any of that after at least 2 years of development it doesnt say much for them

Or maybe it just says that you're impatient and particularly ignorant of the time it may take to completely rebuild an engine from scratch. I'd say they're about on track given the things we've seen.

 This doesn't warrant its own thread ; after the first two lines it is the same resentful rant about Taleworlds for not satisfying your impatient demand for regular news that you are apparently used to with other games which you already made in the latest Devblog thread. If this requires its own thread then so does every single post made in the forum! What's more, you say the game shouldn't have taken this long? At once you both denigrate the work being done on the game and show your impatient desire to play it. 2 or 3 years to develop the average game is not a long time. They have said they are revamping the game, a lot more is changing than did between M&B and Warband. Also, anyone can objectively look at the latest screens and say that the improvements from Warband are large and obvious, but you trot out the much used but never really substantiated claim that mods have done things to the same standard as the dev team.
