Why are wages paid daily for the first time in the series?

I really do ask me why, for the very first time in the Mount&Blade series, wages of your troops are paid daily. I quite like how they just are substracted from your money, without the screen like before, but also I miss the screen for being able to see, where how much money went and how much income I made.
But my point is,paying wages daily is just annoying and not practical at all. Just for the sake of the argument, imagine all your troops coming by you every single day and wanting money from you. Instead of having a payday every week. It would drive everyone crazy and would heavily influence your mobility if you had to set up the payment for every person in your army each day with them waiting for an hour or two, then getting their money and singing it off on your list...

If you hover over your income in the bottom right you can see the breakdown of how much you're paying and how much you're getting paid. I prefer daily, personally.

I like weekly with more severe desertions if you fail to pay...

Now you can miss a payment for 3-4 days and barely any troops desert.

I think paying weekly was better as well as it meant that you had to manage your money more carefully, also I know why they switched it, as 1 day is supposed to be the equivilent of 1 week or like half a week or something as instead of 12 months in a year its 4 seasons

Weekly payment had sensitive exploits.
Like f.e. going everywhere with army, but sending all your men to garrison on a payday.

yeah i was just wondering why they did daily instead of weekly now i wonder if there will ever be an option for weekly considering it would affect the economy alot with the new system i liked weekly it was easier to manage

i don't understand 1 day is 1 week so when the sun goes up and down is that mean't to be a whole week or half a week?

More realistic of the time period would be that they would get a share of loot and then much less pay, not familiar with the time frame they would have recieved it back then. the weekly thing makes sense to us now, but throughout man's history I doubt that weekly being the norm has been around for that long.

thanks for the reply yeah when you think about it seems to make sense that back then they where payed at the end of a day maybe they can implement some sort of loot sharing morale system like in viking conquest

I find it really annoying to pay daily. I actually liked to have a screen popping up at the end of month, because I often forgot to look it up. And it was very satisfying to see those green numbers pop up eventually  There got to be a better way to prevent exploitation.

Seems like it could be easily be fixed by keeping track of what troops you have in your party and for how long, and then you would pay them based on that. Or even something as simple as calculating the wages daily as it is done now, but the money change kicks in once a week.

Thanks, I agree with the loot sharing concept, this is how moral would be high is if your troops are recieving high amounts of loot. Why would they fight when they get a daily salary...
