Why 1.5.10 is the absolute worst version

Users who are viewing this thread

The only good thing about bannerlords was the combat simulation and that's broken now.

Apparently, not being able to give commands to your army once the enemy begins to flee is a new "feature".

Just great.

I've tried to convince support it's a bug but they insist it's a feature. They've neither responded nor changed the status so I'm assuming it's a new feature.

That thread reads like they misunderstood your issue.

The behaviour they described existed prior to 1.5.10. You're describing a new behaviour that I've also seen.

Just keep the thread alive, or post a new thread and make sure it's clear that you aren't describing the normal behaviour where some units start cheering. Instead the bug you're describing prevents you from selecting units. Someone else will review it.

You don't need to lose your mind over it. It's just a bug. That's the point of beta.

I'm not the OP and I think many people including myself have already attempted to clarify it to no avail.

Then start a new thread, because plainly the issue is neither understood nor resolved.

Be patient. Sometimes miscommunications happen, and their team is fragmented.

I did. This is it. I'm raising awareness to the playerbase. More voices more attention. Hopefully.

Start that thread in the place where those responsible for bug fixing will look at it. The player base don't manage the issue log. This forum's playerbase are mostly a rent-a-cry crowd.

Nah man, the removal of the learning speed reduction from leveling up is really important, that alone makes it a better version.
The routing thing is a minor annoyance. In fact everything about enemies routing is annoying, I wish they would just duck and cover as if they surrendered, or at least de=spawn when they get off the map.

Faster learning isn't a big issue for me. I've already gotten used to it.

Besides, it forces you to have specialists companions.

This routing thing is a major annoyance. If I'm having such issues with looters, I can't imagine how it'll be like when I'm actually going up against another army.

Lord parties don't leave a remnant when they rout as far as I know. Don't worry.

I agree.

I'm having another issue after the most recent patch. The game becomes incredibly laggy and unresponsive whenever I change from one UI to another (i.e. go from the map to town, or just from the town into the tavern fx.).. It's come to the point where I've simply stopped playing the game.
Am I the only one experiencing this issue?

On another note.. I recently wrote a review on the game on steam (not recommending it) and it got me thinking - there's a lot of features from Warband that I'd love to see ingame, and there's a lot of features teased back before the game became available for EA in dev posts. Stuff like building up villages with mills, walls, baileys etc. stuff that could add depth to the game but for some reason is either no longer prioritized or abandoned altogether.. Or simply having 1 village rather than a castle + 2 villages, something I've really missed from the old game since, well I liked the idea of being forced to defend a lords castle even if I sincerely disliked the ******* (I'm not saying he should've given me his daughter in marriage, luckily I can just buy her, I'm saying he shouldn't charge so much for her.. She doesn't even clean the moat ffs)..

This information is incorrect. the purpose of Beta testing is not to debug software but to test it against user requirements and expectations. Alpha testing should already have validated the software, i.e. it should be more or less bug-free when it reaches Beta stage.

I think removing the learning speed restriction really destroyed the base mechanics in bannerlord, one of the few new features in Bannerlord. My understanding of the mechnics was to limit your character growth so it can't become super good at everything and create a need to specialize and deligate other task, surgeon, quatermaster, engineer, scout, govenor to other characters that you specilize in those areas.

My hypothesis is you'll playthrough be even more repetitive since eventually you'll be high level in everything anyway.

That surrender system sounds cool, I remember a mod (roman mod?) where this happened for WB. As for despawning, I think it would be more appropriate if the fleeing soldiers then turn into a deserter party, becoming a bandit force as opposed to disappearing altogether.

It does not. They all sit in taverns getting relations for me. I've never seen a wanderer with relevant skill more then 140, which is garbage.

I think you never understood it at all.

1 You won't be super good at more then 1 attribute set, no matter what. It's hard capped by your attributes.
2 Your companions suffer from that same limits and they often start at a higher level, making it even slower for them raise thier special skill (if they even can). Tell me how did you "create" a specialized a companion? Or do you mean "Hire a crappy wanderer with 80-140 skill in something and it barely improves for the rest of the game".
3 You can't be a governor anyways
The only good one is your campaign brother, because you can customize him during the tutorial.

Nope. My character is nearly the same as older versions but now I don't experience "aaaw man I shot too many guys and leveled up 10 times, now I can't learn scouting as fast  " now it's "I shot a bunch of guys and leveled up 10 times, cool".
I think you don't understand what hard caps are if you think anyone's going to be high level in everything.

Yeah, this doesn't make sense. If you live a long life, wouldn't it make sense that you can be skilled in multiple departments? You can still have a profession, as your attributes limit your max, but why would I learn one-handed weapons slower when super efficient with two-handed? Wouldn't this learning carry throughout my life, making it easier if anything? It is a great change.
