Who is the Lion Thrones claimant?

Be warned though, I imagine the Lion Throne is almost impossible to overthrow.

Did it, and restored the Ellisian empire

That was probably my best game ever (for that occasion i modeled the ellisian crown and the signum, that got f***ed up in wings :???:)

Now I'm wondering: If you successfully raise Gregoras to his desired position, what happens to the troops you can recruit? Brigadiers should be out of the question, after all...or not? I am confus!

It seems like a lot of the claimants would mess up the faction. Like a Khergit Khanate using only Ormeli soldiers, a Dual Monarchy that doesn't have any Nirdamese, and a free Calradian Province of the Haelmar Union that still has Haelmarian soldier.

I thought about making some claimant-specific troops and party-templates - I only got about half-way, by making deserter troops more aligned towards the claimants. Those would then become available in towns and such. However, after the faction is restored, those troops won't be in use anymore. I also made up some titles for the new ruler and his faction - nothing else is changed after the restoration though.

I thought about this earlier, and wouldn't putting Gregoras on the throne not work lore wise? If you don't overthrow the Pope, wouldn't he just send more loyal forces to stop you? You could probably make the same argument for the Laurian claimant, except for the fact that he actually has a legit claim (blood).

Well the Lion Throne isn't actually overthrown per say when you do SUCCESSFULLY overthrow the Devas. All you will have done is humiliate the devas and the pope... and of course take away Ellis as an LT province. You would also, however, invoke the full fury of the pope and he would finally stand up and point his staff at calradia (no, don't worry, its not thunderbolts that'll smite you). And soon Gregoras would be sweating buckets trying to raise legions as a FULL TOTAL WAR FORCE OF BRIGADIERS and auxilia march inexplicably towards CALRADIA...

Congratulations, you made the ignorant pope notice Calradia

Well, regarding troops, i changed the models of weaponry and armory to look more ellisian, and puf, i had my new model ellisian army, that looked totally badass.

Mind uploading those models? I'm thinking that if you (or a claimant) overthrows a faction, there would a) be a change in party composition/templates - that would be easy to accomplish, and b) an invasion force of sorts (sort of like in SoD) for non-Calradian factions, and strong rebel war parties for the local factions. That would take a lot more work, but it could be done I guess.

No rebel war parties as no-one likes the Filaharnists except themselves. Perhaps even the opposite with radical Ellisian groups.

Well I mean, there are bound to be more radical Ellisians, fired up by the Black Hand, who decide to bring the war to the Filaharnists and build up small armies to attack the Filaharnists like.. fanatical guerilla type people and now have incentive to attack the Filaharnists as Ellis is recaptured and they want to avenge their honour and stuff and want to secure Ellis' place in Calradia and destroy the Lion Throne.

Basically just some more ramblings by me.

How about regular invasion-like "reinforcements" for the Lion Throne? You know; every now and then, a few hundred brigadiers here, several thousand auxiliaries there, stampeding into Calradia under temporary lords (is that even possible? I just think it's important that they can besiege things)...

For the Ormeli, I'd suggest a pattern of raids. For the first few months, small Khergit raiding parties come in, pillage a little or ambush a weakened lord, and run off again. Then come a small number of minor warlords, perhaps to take a castle and exploit the local peasants for a while. And then the Khan himself pays a visit to the Ormeli, complete with thousands-strong army (variable in proportion to how successful the previous raids were). After a while, the Khergits gather their loot and make off with it, unless they're beaten first. Then a few seasons of peace before the pattern starts again.

Wheeeee! No idea if that's at all possible, but I'd sure love it.
