Who gets newly conquered fiefs?

So, I've been leading my own army with myself, 2 companions and 2 other leaders of the Northern Empire. We've taken a number of fiefs, and none of the three clan leader (my character included) ever shows up for the decision to get the fief. It's always some random people on the other side of the map. How is this decided? I have 1 fief right now, a town with 4 villages attached. Am I only able to have 1 fief as a player?

I don't know the answer of how the choices are picked, but I can tell you that there is no limit as the player. In my last game I had two castles and a town.

I rather liked how in Warband the primary choices seemed to include the person who captured it and someone who wasn't landed.

It seems random. I'm not sure if i like that.
Maybe you should be able to get higher chance in order to get in the final selection with influence

What if you use 200 influence to propose to take a fief from another clan?

If you have A lot of Influence you can Bid in your favour, or If U have 200+ trade skill u can actually buy it for your King or Vasals

In my experience the King would rather his best buddies have all the land while the guy who did all the work remains homeless.
