Who Did You Marry?

Seems like no one has thought of this thread, so it'd be interesting to see who you married and why you chose them. (Whether they be lord or lady)

I married Lady Aesa because as I was scanning the character list her name intrigued me and she didn't look like a creepy bog monster.

(Yes, you can make fun of my kingdom name. I didn't realize till I had already put a kingdom name down)

Lady Sonadel, the second-most pretty lady after Bernatys from Swadia. Don't look at her page though, you need to see her ingame, then she looks pretty good.

Lady Sonadel as well....

I personally think the Sarranid skin color for females looks the best for women.

I too wanted to marry Lady Sonadel (and did in a previous game), but instead went farther with Lady Catalina, Lord Reland's daughter. She's ugly, but I guess it doesn't matter that much .

What's funny about that is I'm up to Year 3 in my game, yet in the past 3 she hasn't aged a day. *shrug* I'll take an eternally-young wife, especially as I have the Age Slider to ensure I don't lose stamina...

I think it was Sonadel, I just remember she was a Khergit lady and her dad owned the castle on the south-east corner of Khergit lands right next to the Sarranid Empire (which was the first empire I took over, and I wanted to be sure the Khergits didn't attack me while I wiped out the other factions, I hate fighting Khergits).

I lol'd.

Anyways, I accidentally saved over that file, and it had 360+ days and I owned all of the Rhodok land and three Swadian cities... in my mind I wanted to reload my life's save game so that I could get that save game back... Lol.

So far? Don't remember any except Lady Timethi. Why? Married to a Count in Rhodoks who can't catch a break with the king. Only owns one village. Nothing else. Isn't happy about it. So as long as I was looking for a wife, may as well look to the future where I'll need nobles.
Besides...Timethi's a funny name.

i married lady shatha, i'm good friends with emir hiwan and emir hamezan so it made sense, i changed her looks though...

In one of my other characters beside my conquerer, I am set to marry a Swadian lady (as a Swadian). But the Lord will not hold the feast and the wedding isn't happening (it has been over 100 days since I paid him). Any ideas WTF happened?

Does being married really change much? It didn't really effect my conquerer since he had his own faction, but does it change anything if you are in an existing faction? and what are the differences between marrying into your faction and marrying into another faction (hostile or not)?

I married my giant ego, together we've been sweeping across Calradia bulldozing everyone who stands in our way.

She's a beautiful *****, my ego that is.

So far my strategy has been to marry the "easiest" woman with whose father/brother I have good relations.  In my current game I tried to marry Jarl Knuddar's daughter, but she was playing hard to get so I settled on Boyar Vuldrat's instead.  I also had Emir Hamezan's daughter as a backup, I just got tired of crossing over to the Sarranid lands to pay her suit.

Aside from political connections, are there any real benefits to choosing one wife over another?  I mean, I more or less understand how personality type works during courtship (preferred poems, etc.), but do, for instance, ambitious wives make better ministers than traditional ones?  I've used both and didn't notice any differences.

Lady Miar, Daughter of Jarl Harald. What can I say, I have a thing for tomboys *shrug*
