Closed White Screen of Death On launch

- Day 3 of trying to successfully launch Bannerlord.

among many others i am STILL unable to even launch the game. i have been troubleshooting this with every fix you could possibly conceive. you thought of a solution = i've already tried it. i have 70 minutes of playtime on steam just trying to fix this. i have scrawled over nearly every faq and thread trying to fix white screen + CTD to no avail.

[while i really appreciate everyone trying to help], please stop telling us to "restart computer", "run in compatibilty", "run as admin", "update video drivers", "validate game cache", "read the list of bugs post", "open cfg and change to windowed mode", "*another generic fix*", or any other 100% obvious suggestions, like the tech support people that ask you if restarting your PC fixes your problem. honestly we aren't stupid, nor are we tech-illiterate. NOTHING is working.


I still see so many other players like myself with the white screen of death and cant launch SP or MP

The difference in my case is that the game actually worked properly the first two days. But now I'm in your situation, i guess the 1.02 patch decided I would join your team

I just repaired white screen problem by installing KB2670838 update for Windows 7. Download it from the Windows page and it should work for you too.

It didn't solve it under Windows 10, I just installed the last update as well

(Windows 7) Possible fix for WHITE SCREEN OF DEATH
after trying EVERY fix you could ever concieve i managed to fix the white screen of death with these steps:

This installs a ♥♥♥♥ tonne of KB updates, but then in a thread relating to this issue, someone pointed out that they heard KB 2670838 helped them start the game:

After installing these, my game managed to actually start the main menu up.

This is a long shot because i've tried 50+ solutions at this point and don't even know what fully caused my game to fix, but at least try this out.

i was desesperate like you, but now i can play. What i did is run as admin steam and all the .exe inside of the folder Win64_shipping_client that are Bannerlord.exe, Bannerlord.Native.exe,Bannerlord_BE and the launcher ----> TaleWords.Mountandblade.Launcher.exe after that i could play the game. Try it
