Which shield do you prefer and why?

So I'm kind of wondering if I should reconsider my shield choices. Right now Me and most of my companions use a Reinforced Knightly Heater Shield, while a couple of them have Reinforced Knightly Kite Shield. Both offer 27 resistance, 59x79 size, and 100 speed rating. However, the kite shield has 5 more "health" points. On the other hand, I just looked at the Reinforced Steel Shield stats and it has 738 "health," a size of 79, 21 resistance, and a speed rating of 61. So my question is, which shield do you guys use (doesn't have to be one of those 3) and why? Also, is the steel shield worth it?

I personally like the Huscarl's Round Shield. But I'm not sure if it's better than the shield you were talking about. Although, I do admit, some shields are better than the Huscarl's Round Shield.

I prefer the huscarl's shield for it's size and strength, even though it is ugly as sin.

But seriously, I carry a reinforced shield of some Nordic type so I can actually get close to the ladder when assaulting Khergit settlements without becoming a knightly pincushion.

I simply step out of the way of flying axes. They go slow enough that my amazing cat-like reflexes all but negate their deadliness.

Arrows are simply too afraid to come near me. Genuinely. On close to day 1400 and I have yet to be killed by arrows or throwing weapons. Crossbows however... I hate crossbows.

I don't know if this applies to you, but I find that wearing bright, red armor increases your chances of being hit by an arrow or two.

I almost never use the steel shield because even though it's stats are clearly better than all other shields, it doesn't show heraldry... the huscarl shield is pretty good, but it's also a little cumbersome. My favourite is probably the smaller 'elite cavalry shield'.

Everyone says the Rhodok shields look awful and are awful.. but I don't know. I've taken a liking to it. It fits the style so well, and I think it looks good and I like them.
