Which mod should I try?

Well, I'm starting to get a bit bored of the vanilla game. So I'm getting interested in the mods. It'll take ages for me to go through each mod's thread looking at all of the details, so I hope you don't mind me starting a new thread to ask for opinions on which I should try.

Ideally I'd like a mod that is stable, introduces a few new unit types and also gives some more interesting quests. Anything else (like extra story or buildings or arena stuff) would be icing on the cake. I play with the battle size slider at minimum, so I'm not particularly interested in bigger party sizes or anything like that.

Hundred Years Wars=quite good, but ugly backgrouns in menues!

Last Days=lotr big party sizes, but quite a lot new things!

Arena Mod= just fun in the arena= good for you if you play with few enemies also.

Story Mod=adds Story, but beta ( 0.3)

Also you could use Warrider Sound mod, for difference in sounds.

Dynasty Warriors/RoTK= very good, but not released yet *laughs*

You should definately try the LOTR mod. It actually adds some sense of war to the game where you can actually win or loose rather than the eternal wars in the other mods.

The Hundred years war mod is also good, although I haven't tried the current version. And if a war is what you want, I still suggest the LOTR mod.

If war isn't your thing and you just want some new and original batles, try the arena expansion mod. In my opinion, the changes made to the arena in this mod should just be added to the full version of the game.

If you would rather explore an original map and just fight some new enemies, I suggest checking out the northern kingdoms mod. It adds alot of cool new areas to the game and has an original map. I hope you like snow though...

dont forget the Path to Glory mod, which is very slowly being developed

He asked for stable mods, which he already can play, Path to Glory will take a lot of time till theres something big to play, at least it seems so.

Hmmm, Maybe I'll have to try Darkmod myself. Wasn't sure if I would like it or not but if everyone else seems to like it...

But with a new version of the LOTR mod on the way and the newly released Northern Kingdoms mod there just isn't enough time in the day already...
