And just only a Historical fact(that a lot of people unknown)  we were the first to defeat Nelson in Tenerife with less troops

wait...did i misread?
Correct me if I`m mistaken but you surely mean Napoleon not Nelson...
your right

Austria had one of the largest armies and had control of Italy, this resulted in the first major power going to a full scale war, on the French Revolutionaries, Spain did serve a part in Trafalgar, and in the Peninsular Campaign, but I believe this was fueled by France, and Spain was a puppet nation to France.

I doubt that this poll has any influence on the mm developers wether they make a new faction, or which faction that will be.

This damn war in Spain was the first cause of all the misfortunes of France. All the circumstances of my disasters are related to the fatal knot: it destroyed my moral authority in Europe, complicated my difficulties, opened a school at British soldiers ... this damn war have me lost.

Napoleón in exile.

Excuse me, Sir, the control of WHAT?

Well, talking about how to implement Spain to the game, I agree Guerrilla's aren't the best unit to make a balanced faction. But there were also infantery regiments among them, cavalry, and artillery. They weren't ALL guerrilleros.

Guerrilleros could just  be the skirmirsers, while the line infantry, cavalry, and artillery could be any of the official regiments from spain.

My opinion is, we need both factions in the game, obviously. If I had to choose one, I'll choose spain (since I'm spanish). But still, we want both!

I don't want insult to any Historical-memory, but I dont think so: less the Portuguese volunteers tat were into the British allied army, Portuguese troops fought into Portugal frontier and just a little more out of them.  Instead Spanish were fighting in whole the Peninsula and participated (or  made) in almost the 80% of the battles.

portugues were more important than spain you should at least add some portugal regiments to britain.

Ok, my historical knowledge on the peninsular war may not be fully up to snuff, but I call shenanigans!

Actually I think that adding some Portuguese regiments to the British would be an excellent idea. After all Portuguese troops comprised a third to half of Wellington's forces during the Peninsular War. However, I don't think making Portugal its own faction would be the best way to implement them.

Indeed. I think it's a splendid idea to add a few various units from other countries that went to war with Britain, vice versa for France. Looks like Austria is pulling up in that thread's poll!

For example italian units of the Kingdom of Italy who served under the French flag during most of the battles

Exactly!
Adding allied units to the major factions would add a lot more flavor to the mod, and allow minor nations who took part in the Napoleonic wars to be represented. If this were to be done, I would personally like to see a Polish unit such as the Vistula Legion, as well (because I'm Polish ).
Hopefully this is possible... is there a cap on the number of regiments a faction can have?

Ahhhhh!
Have you all here forgot the roles of the "smaller" countries during the war? A very good example for that, would be that the Swedish kingdom planned several invasions of france, with the help of the British and ofcourse, Russia (Although this was at the beginning of the war). They had some 10.000 british troops and as far as I can remember, even more, russian soldiers, at Pommeria. However, the peace-war making all the time, plus politic facts, prevented the invasion... So they were sent back. Continuously; Austria was never really "knocked out" of the war even though the dramatic loss at Wagram and other battles. But they did likely not have the amount of men after that, and the war didn't really continue in Austria, but at other places (Leipzig etc.) with Austrian soldiers fighting with their Coalition allies. So you could say that, Spain were fighting in their own country and about to win their war with the help of the British, whilst Austria had "lost" somewhat much, forcing them to perhaps more indirectly waging the war in other countries.
So.. whats the most interesting? Adding a winning country or a "losing" one? (No I'm not saying Austria lost against France, they had some nice victories, but their situation was not so favoring themselves).
I don't know.  Due me, it would feel more complete with Austria, but at the same time, there is already three of the four major coalition countries, France standing alone.. It'd probably be better adding Spain, and doing so would make France "looking" better. (They would not be a lonely country fighting all of Europe, instead it would show that they had plenty of support).

That's exactly what I was getting at... :???:

I agree with your point about Spain, however, most people don't seem to have a problem with France being outnumbered (and there is not a huge difference between 3:1 and 4:1) nor with the fact that most lb's end up pitting coalition countries against each other. And Spain ended up allied with the British anyway...
