where to get "padded cloth"?

i just talked to a guy named Marnid, or something. he says he will fight for me, but he wants a padded cloth. i checked the vendors, and they dont have any. can anyone tell me where to get some of this cloth?

Welcome to the forum Bobstos, you can find a padded cloth at a smithy in most towns, not just Zendar.

Items are restocked at random so you just have to search for what you want

you have to shop around - but realize that the padded armor can run upwards of 100 gold or perhaps a bit more. So make sure you have enough coin before you start hunting around for it.

I found some ragged or tattered cloth armor that was pretty cheap and he accepted that to join me... saved quite a few denars there!!

And it's actually better to give Marnid only tattered or ragged padded clothes, because the game ALWAYS replaces them with normal padded clothes, when he joins you.

Why? The "search" button will probably give the best answer

Hey man, watchmen aren't any better. I just saw a quite interesting sight when fighting river pirates: All my troops rush towards a riverpirate, I kill him, they turn towards another. A watchman shoots a bolt right trough the head of a farmer. At least he didn't shoot me or a knight...

Man, I'd love the possibility to hit your own troops, I'd hit all my archers unconscious right at the beginning of a battle.
