my tought. The Workshop alone makes Steam very worthy for the PC COmmunity. Let alone the Rating system etc.

It will take me about 2 days from steam, about 12 hours from GOG. It's not on GOG or anything else though.

Well i understand not everyone can have good internet, but its not only on steam. I think the reason steam takes longer is to provide stability and equal distribution, to avoid bottlenecking. Which are good things. Dont know why GoG should be so much faster though.

With Elite Dangerous we were given our Kickstarter keys and told we could register them on steam, but in terms of future DLC revenue it would be better for the devs if we didn't. I'm not sure if that means that players were locked into steam DLC after registering, or if it was part of the deal that the devs made to get their game keys accepted. Probably the typical player would move to getting DLC on steam anyway.

In any case I opted to stay with my "direct" copy and will do the same with BL if there's a choice.

Well then, this changes EVERYTHING! I've only used Epic for some free games so I'll have to test and see if their d/l speed is better, but it's nice to have a choice.

no, If you get a key and activate it on steam, steam doesn't cut money, steam isn't epic guys
