Poland is located in Canada, case closed.

Being from Poland and living in Canada, I think it is safe to say Poland is definitely in Canada.

Trust me, I am a professional Polack.

Futilely trying to answer this question seriously, an argument for Poland's "central" Europan-ness versus being "eastern" is its Catholic history. One would think that the Catholic/Orthodox dividing line is decently significant in judging such things.

Poland? They've got us surrounded that's for sure.

Proof? North Pole. South Pole. Need I continue?

There's Poles in Britain, they're west poles.
There's Poles in Poland, they're east poles.

THEY'RE OUT TO GET THE NETHERLANDS. AAAAAAGH.

Oh, and maybe Germany.

Everyone is Polish.

Except for the Chinese. They're a totally different race.
True. You forgot to mention that Polish is another word for Turk.

That's interesting indeed, but following that logic could lead someone to question where do countries like Hungary, Slovakia or even Croatia belong to, and they are certainly not in Central Europe. Also, concerning geography, part of Poland does belong to Central Europe, all other things like culture, people etc. definitely belong to Eastern Europe since there is not "Central European culture" only Western and Eastern.

There definitely is Central Europe. Austria, eastern parts of what is now Germany and everything east of them that has been under their strong and direct influence.  So, yes parts of Poland (especially Silesia and Pommerania) are in Central Europe. By the same token, Latvia and Estonia are in Central europe; Lithuania having resisted German colonization has much more Eastern feel despite being geographically closer.

They were colonized by Germans, the dominant middle and upper class culture was German regardless of what country asserted political sovereignity over the region between the dissolution of Livonan Confederacy and te Northern War.

True what both you say but that's only if you look geographical position. Scandinavian culture counts as Western and it's far away from Latvia and Estonia who belong to Eastern part if you look that segment and not geography. For example, Greece is southern Europe and practically belongs to the East but it has nothing similar with Eastern culture and even counts as the "cradle of Western civilization". I just tried to separate those two things, and Poland has always been part of Eastern culture even if you include Catholic faith which has reached to Ukraine, which is you'll agree Eastern Europe by all measures.

Latvia and Estonia have ties with Scandinavia, not germany.
There's a whole people called Baltic Germans. They were pretty much wiped out during the Soviet occupation.

the term "craddle of western civilization" referes to the whole "West" as opposed to Middle and Far East, so it includes Eastern Europe and Russia too as well as all former European colonies which (doh) are not in Europe at all. You can call it the white man's civlization if you feel like going there

My point is that Europe is culturally divided into more than just two parts. There is at least West proper, the Mediterranean, Central Europe and Eastern Europe. These cultural (sub)regions don't always strictly respect geography and sometimes not even state borders - e.g. parts of France are in West proper and parts are in the Mediterranean. Greece is hands down in the Mediterranean and so is Croatia despite having been under (Austro-)Hungarian rule for ages
