Howdy,

Seriously, the team needs to release the 1.0 version to us to bug test for a few weeks before it is actually released.  You don't want the legions of noob fanboys in here talking S about the game because of the bugs we see in every other release.  So, when do the hardcore fans who have paid to beta test this puppy gonna get a shot at it?

We have it, it is the .960 release, that is what Armagan said:

It is like yesterday that I had announced the first beta version of the game. Yet it was more than four years ago, and everything was so uncertain at the time. If the players had not supported the game as avidly as they did, the whole project would surely die out somewhere along the way. But it didn't die out, we released many versions throughout these years, got the most wonderful feedback a game developer could hope for, saw amazing mods come out, and I personally had the most interesting time of my life. Now, four years later, it is time to announce the last beta release of Mount & Blade. I want to thank everyone who walked with us in this adventure. And although this is the last beta release, I am sure there will be lots of exciting things in the coming months and years.

That may be, but it seems to me that if they done anything besides polishing the graphics by adding new models and textures it needs to be bug tested.  Otherwise you are gonna have people buying a box game the first week, load it up and hit some obscure error that the few people working on the game would never find in a million years.  You have to have the teaming masses of people who frequent this forum find this stuff before average Joe goes to town.

I suppose if it is going to be released on 9/18/08 then it must already be off at some factory being printed, boxed and stacked.

ı believe I was the only person out of the devTeam that tested the game before it was completed. I've found several bugs myselfand simulated all the bugs I could find in the forums. They have all been fixed. Of course, can't say it's all bug free, but the common and major bugs are gone and many minor ones are cleared out as well (including some bugs that didnt exist before, or re-happened post 960)

No game is completely bug free upon release. Maelstorm and the others will have caught many that we'll never see, but it's inevitable that some will slip past them.

Indeed. But to be honest, I think it's quite good. We're lucky to have this community, people have reported bugs all the time, so it was quite easy to try them out and see if they had been fixed or so. I think there is only one bug that couldn't be solved (maybe it was, not sure. the bug that gives you ridicilious amounts of exp. quite a random bug). I can say it will be quite stable, at least as stable as any game's first release.

To the original poster, is this a clever attempt at asking when's the next release going to be out ?

Well, if it's mostly online distribution, bugfixes and testing can be done the same way they have been so far; release another version with a bunch of fixes.

Hmm, so it's finished already!

Can't believe it's just about 3 weeks til september 16.

Anyway, will the latest version rock our socks off?

Just a curiosity: what is your role in the dev team?
