Q.  I'm crashing when saving a game.
A.  I'm not sure what the cause of this issue is, however, it seems that going to a town after a big battle and then saving makes it work...
Quoted from the stickied FAQ post.  Though I've tried this myself and it doesn't help.  I'm stuck for saves right now in that no matter what I do after the most recent battle I cannot save my game.  I've tried waiting 3 days, tried going to several cities, tried directly after the battle, tried fighting other battles after...

Same here. It's what keeping me from playing Warband completely - can't play without 1257 now.

yes I have this problem too. I didnt had any crashes with 0.95 before only with  latest version after big battle ctd everytime I try save. I dont know if it is caused by latest warband patch or mod.

 I don't even need a big battle to save-crash. Unless 12 looters versus 1 battle is considered epic.

Well if you're using warband version 1.125 and you're using the 0.95_7 patch you shouldn't be crashing. I had the same problem and it fixed it completely. If it keeps persisting turn your graphics down, no idea why, but that's what worked back when I, and many others had the same problem.

I'm on Steam, so I have whatever the latest patch is
Thanks for the advise.  I'll go and try it now, see if that helps.

 Funny, since my epic crashes came after 1.125/0.95_7, whichever one's the cause. Also, my game is running practically lag-free. In other words - lowering graphics sadly doesn't help.

Not helping here either.  Which is sad, because this is an epic mod, and this is a game-killing issue.  And I certainly can't go back to Native now

Run the game in Windows XP SP 3 compatibility mode and see if that helps.
I don't see SP3, only SP2 but I tried it anyway, for a little while and it saved without crashing. Finally, I might be able to advance a little in the game.  No idea if it'll work after longer periods of play though.

Well, it's not that the graphics lag you, it's some cockamamie glitch that happens.

Currently running in XP SP2 compatability mode and not had a crash so far. *crosses fingers* Thanks Othr =D

DAH am having same issue.  DAMN the torpedos!  can't save after battle, so what's the point in playing lol. How do you make it use sp3? willing to try to see if that works.  saving crashes.

And what to do if you have Win XP SP 3? I stoped playing this mod and warband at all because of that. Warband compared to this mod is boring but crash on save is very annoying. Lowering everything does not solve this for me it will happen sooner or later to me

Then try bugs.taleworlds.com, it really is the engine that's the problem here.  I can't do anything about it.

I don't seem to have the option for choosing Windows xp SP3 (even though that's what I'm using) It doesn't give option for SP3 OR SP2.  It lists as options Windows 95, WIndows 98/ME, Windows NT 4.0, and Windows 2000 under the compatibility tab on properties.    Updated to SP3 trying to fix, but it didn't, same issues, crash on save attempt.
