When giving commands to a specific unit, can we select a quantity of troops from that unit to follow the command?

The title might not be too clear, so what I mean is, let's say I want half of my infantry to go to one position, and I want the other half to go to another position. Will I be able to split up my units like that, or can I only give commands to the whole unit?

I dont think so, you'd just have two separate infantry groups instead of one big one.

Im pretty sure i saw an option for that, you bring up the command prompt and their is a slider to choose how many soldiers you want following that order. Even if not an option you can just make multiple groups

I definitely saw this in one of the singleplayer mod videos. I'm not positive what the slider was doing, but given the context (it was brought up just before a follow order), it makes sense that this was what was happening.
