When assigning fief there is no way to check who is w/o fief, right?

It seems I need to write down who is w/o fief before talking to the minister, right? And at the same way when I capture a town/castle I can assign it and to see who has no fief but there is no way to assign the villages too?

You are correct.. short of going to your notes and checking each lords fiefs.

I prefer to skip this by deferring appointment until I end the campaign at which point I just go down the list assigning fiefs (and skipping the lords I don't like every now and then).

Yes, there is a way. Hit the key "Q", then hit the button "Characters" down on the screen. On the right list, find each lord that you have ("Lord ...") Then when you click them you will see their properties on the left screen, "he is the lord of..." If he has no fiefs, it will say just that, "he has no fiefs".

As for your second question I'm sorry i didn't understand what you mean.

For the second question I believe he means the village you get when you take a castle/town, you cannot assign it without going back to your minister.

When I go to assign fiefs It has the number of towns/castles/villages a lord owns next to his name in the minister dialog.

I know this; the problem is when I assign a fief I cannot check this at the same time; so I have to pre-check this and write down the fiefless lords before talking to the minister about assigning the free fiefs.

For me (1.134) this numbers appear only when I just captured  a town/castle and to chose if I want to assign the newly captured castle/town at once (which I usually don't want); also I can assign the newly captured town/castle at once but have no option to assign the newly captured villages w/o talking to the minister.

It may be easily modded; do some mod exists which enhance the interface?

I am not sure if such a mod exists but making one could be possible... if/when I feel up to it I could see if I can add the dialog to assign fiefs to companions..

In the mean time having the villages go unassigned is a good thing... lands with no lords attracts other lords so you have a better chance of recruiting them rather than having to fight them.

Yes, that's true. But I yesterday wonder WTF is going on with one of my oldest serving vassals only to find out he somehow remained w/o fief. I am sure not due to the enemy capturing town/castle, I guess I just missed him.

So actually 2 additional dialogs options are needed:
1. To be able to assign villages at once on the pop-up screen after you capture castle/town (now only the castle/town can be assigned at once)
2. When talking to the minister about assigning a fief to be able to see which of the lords how many fiefs have. This should be present in the dialogue at (1) too.
