Unarmed 999 strength man? PAAAF!Same: Obelix the battanian

I'll start from humble origins, lower than mercenary if possible, because I like the idea of starting small and expanding in any game. I'll try to climb a step of the ladder with each generation, e.g. start as smith, selling weapons that I've made (not sure if crafting will be in EA though) -> heir uses parent's weapons and becomes mercenary -> inherit powerful mercenary company leverage it to become a low level lord -> next powerful lord -> eventually usurp the throne. Each character will have it's own goal.
The "slow burn" increase in power will hopefully let me take my time in exploring each part of the game. I hope that Bannerlord will be a great game that I will play a huge amount, so I want to discover every part and not get bored quickly. Each time that I climb a step in the ladder, I will be rewarded with new mechanics.
Inevitably this will all fall apart when I start playing. Whenever I have an idea to role play a campaign I can't resist seizing any opportunities to gain power, so any structure/RP goes out the window. I also have no idea if this is a realistic amount to do in a single character's lifetime and EA mightn't make such a long campaign realistic.
Thanks, I had a vague memory of reading that somewhere, which is why I said I wasn't sure. I'll have to start as something else very low down, maybe merchant, but the change from merchant to mercenary doesn't feel as natural as smith to mercenary.Weapon crafting will come later during EA, not in at the start though.

Merchant as in traveling trader often needed a club or the like to defend them selves. You could take Marninds story from Warband and make it your own. Thanks, I had a vague memory of reading that somewhere, which is why I said I wasn't sure. Although to his credit, he is smart enough to reveal it to people whom cant actually interfere with his plans. You have all the makings of a classic super-villain. Including revealing your plan way to early.

Plus, I've got to maniacally gloat to someone right?

How do you justify such corruption of ideals to the people who heartlessly followed you for the lesser good?Self-serving bandit that eventually turns into robin hood-like bandit.

Just got flashbacks to the first GTA when that came outAs much as i'd love to think I might actually explore the nuances of Bannerlord, maybe as a merchant or store owner.. After waiting this long for the game I'll just treat it as a first hour of GTA and kill anyone and everyone in sight. See how long I can hold out on five stars.
