Mercenary/quest taker. I'm interested in seeing how the quests affect the game world, and what kind of quests are available.

I'm torn between trying to reunite the empire or being a Vlandian knight of death that sacks the empire.

I'll start from humble origins, lower than mercenary if possible, because I like the idea of starting small and expanding in any game. I'll try to climb a step of the ladder with each generation, e.g. start as smith, selling weapons that I've made (not sure if crafting will be in EA though) -> heir uses parent's weapons and becomes mercenary -> inherit powerful mercenary company leverage it to become a low level lord -> next powerful lord -> eventually usurp the throne. Each character will have it's own goal.

The "slow burn" increase in power will hopefully let me take my time in exploring each part of the game. I hope that Bannerlord will be a great game that I will play a huge amount, so I want to discover every part and not get bored quickly. Each time that I climb a step in the ladder, I will be rewarded with new mechanics.

Inevitably this will all fall apart when I start playing. Whenever I have an idea to role play a campaign I can't resist seizing any opportunities to gain power, so any structure/RP goes out the window. I also have no idea if this is a realistic amount to do in a single character's lifetime and EA mightn't make such a long campaign realistic.

Weapon crafting will come later during EA, not in at the start though.

Thanks, I had a vague memory of reading that somewhere, which is why I said I wasn't sure. I'll have to start as something else very low down, maybe merchant, but the change from merchant to mercenary doesn't feel as natural as smith to mercenary.

Merchant as in traveling trader often needed a club or the like to defend them selves. You could take Marninds story from Warband and make it your own.

I would normally start out as a merchant and slowly gaining coin to hire some warriors to do my bidding. After a while i start to build an army and would not have any part in the battles as i watch my men crush the enemy. Although sometimes i got my backside kicked and watched everyone die while i ran away haha.

Plus, I've got to maniacally gloat to someone right?

That's it, yes. Then you start killing your underlings for delivering bad news, and scream angrily at those who failed to defeat the hero, before sending them out with the exact same task they failed already again. And that should cover it.

Now for myself I voted merchant. I am going to play Yussuf the wise, who though of noble blood fell into disgrace and was banished from court for a year and a day (I won't accept titles in game for this time). During this exile I will organise caravans and invest in businesses. Thus, upon my return I will be able to offer my all the more valuable services to the Sultan again.

Rename a lord to stannis baratheon and put the rightful king on the throne of all westero.. i mean caladria.

Aserai, camel riding mercenary, trying to get fame and fortune on a great brown desert and Southern Empire's border. Later maybe a Khuzait trying to obtain lordship and invade as far as Vlandian shore.

I will found the band of the falcon... and be merch and start businesses in different cities as I get rich

Приветсвую всех, читающих моё сообщение. На этот вопрос хочется ответить, что жажду для начала поизучать новый старый мир

I think merchant would be interesting if you can set up your own trade routes and stuff. Would probably be my second or third playthrough

As much as i'd love to think I might actually explore the nuances of Bannerlord, maybe as a merchant or store owner.. After waiting this long for the game I'll just treat it as a first hour of GTA and kill anyone and everyone in sight. See how long I can hold out on five stars.

Just got flashbacks to the first GTA when that came out
