What's your choice? One-handed blade, axe or mace?

I used to prefer blades as they are longer in range. On the other side, axes have bonuses against shields and blunt weapons knock the enemy unconscious which makes them prisoners or even new recruits.

I still use blades, though...

I use to always use one handed weapon with shield, but the shield bash feature confuse me a lot, when I want to block with my shield and directly hit the enemy with my sword, it end up I'm bashing the enemy with my shield. So now I prefer two handed sword, I only use one handed for marching toward the enemy for castle siege or when I'm riding the horse.

I use morningstar + shield. Only this arms at battlefields. + crossbow on siege. Morningstar - OP, really better hand-to-hand weapon in Native.

I always used a one handed sword with shield but now I switched to a 2h axe(polearm) and it works great. My strenght is at 20 though and I'm level 31.
It crushes a shield in 1 hit and 1 hit kills also.
2h weapon proficiency is at 130 atm.
1h at 300 and archery at 300.
polearms at 140 or something.

So yeah I use the axe now, bow and I have occasional fun with charging with a polearm... I just try to finish of cavalry before they have the chance to charge my rhodok foot soldiers.

Morningstar w/shield.  Typically I use it two-handed, but I like having the one-handed backup option.

Current play-through is one handers + shields + crossbows for everyone and strictly infantry.

Next play-through will be spears & bows with mounts for everyone.

I use a one-handed/two-handed sword + shield, and a two-handed/pole-arm axe. The axe works great during sieges and field battles, and when I am facing ranged enemy soldiers I use my shield to get close to them and get them to fight me with their melee weapons. I am currently recruiting some Knights to quickly hunt down small forces around my Kingdom, so I am looking for a really good lance that I could use as I have one open inventory slot.

one handed axe + shield on foot \ spear or two handed sword when mounted...light leather armor.

A two-handed saber. Always. I *hate* thrust attacks. Axes are too short. Hammers are ugly.
Recently I discovered a sword able to crush through block... I call it Saber and everything is fine.

I think I'm gonna try out the morningstar as well as so many are using it. Never tried it before as one-handed because of the damage deduction of 35% (still counts in Silverstag, right?).

Lol, I'm with you!
In 90% of the cases I miss with thrust attacks, they even do less damage despite the fact I'm impaling the enemy which should kill most instantly...

Bummer that there are no "balanced, tempered and masterwork" axes and maces. It was the same in Floris, so I just added them later.

I typically stay with bow and swords as they seem more fitting for my noble character.

I have experimented a little with a long reach axe of late, however.

Cheers.

My all-time favorite weapon is the Balanced Shortened Voulge. Great multi-use weapon that not only smashes shields and heads but also can be used to cut firewood and to mince onions and mushrooms for a delightful garnish for your evening steak.

I think I have a new favorite now too.

I just remapped the key to alt instead.

I like using maces as well. Though not the morningstar since that's a hand and a half weapon and suffers penalties for it. The winged maces or the heavy steel maces are incredible though.

With the correctly leveled slaver companion like Borcha, I'm bankrolling three quarters of my empire from slave money alone.

wait a min, are you Swadius the one that used to debate with me about dual weapon years ago (I learned my English also from your correction)? or it just someone using the same nick name? Just wondering.

I don't know if we can remapped the keyboard, that is a remarkable information I'll try it in my next game. Thanks for the information.

You can change key configurations for shield bash and other mod added features by visiting the mod options page and clicking the "key config" button.

Long War Axe, it is seriously the best thing to defend a castle with.

It's unbelievable, the downward slash is an instant kill, so I just stand in the choke point and just keep on splitting heads. I defended a castle with only a group of 20 Nord Huscarls against an army of 900, they were Vaegir's mind you who aren't the best at siege battles, but still, 20 against 900 and I only lost a few Huscarls.

Aside from that I use a Bastard Sword and Shield, with a Lance, always good to have a Lance you can couch. The Long War Axe is pretty useless on horseback as you can only thrust with it, and the Bastard Sword can double as a 2-H if I'm on horseback.

Flamberge Zweinhandler, good damage from thrust and slash hits because i supose they works like a polearm now, no more like a sword

never use it anymore after it can't slash your opponent during horse ride, I always sell it whenever I got one. Once I equipped it for Nisa and while she used it on horseback she also had difficulty to kill enemy using that sword, I should record how she use it quite funny she just keep thrusting and thrusting and thrusting and always miss the object.

I hope they reduce the speed drastically than having a sword that only can be use to swing around on horseback, but that just my opinion.
