What's the point?

Hey everyone, I thoroughly enjoy Bannerlord (I'm primarily a Single player type of guy) - But what's the point of playing the campaign if when a new update drops, there's new modules?

I don't want to play with incompatible modules, so I have to start all over. Or am I missing something?

Thanks!

Considering they never seem to add any actual content just continue to play the same build. It's not like you're missing out on anything.

Ah okay, just didn't want there to be some kind of bug/s if I chose to play with incompatible modules. So it shouldn't be an issue loading my old save game, i'll still get the changes made in the patch notes?

No, I meant set the game to use a specific version and don't download new updates.

1.4.2 was pretty solid, I would stick with that until 1.4.3 has had it's initial official fixes and modders have had time to update their mods to be compatible.

Even 1.4.2 currently has a fairly nasty siege bug where the garrison joins with the attackers, resulting in an instant win.

um 1.4.2 instant win sieges and not just me. Check the steam posts about it if you don't believe me. Solid my ass.

really wish the dev would give a damn about the players who spent 50 to play the game and having the last several patches be jokes that either have NO meaningful content update or make things worse. Its honestly very pathetic.

Well, he did say "was." The instant siege issue wasn't a problem until it was brought onto the main branch.

I assume they had a quick fix go bad.

Dude its been 13 hours since its been put out. I just tested in within the last 30 minutes and it was that way. There are tons of other people with the same problem. Its pathetic and if its a bad quick fix then they should have fixed it by now.

maybe go to the steam posts about this. There will be a lot less forgiving posts there.

Yes, the new update is bugged, it's the same with your village settlement. Defending my village but my militia joined the enemy so I ended up wiping out my village militia haha

LOL that's pretty funny, I've never seen that happen as no one ever seiges my castles while I'm around.

And yes, I also played the beta branch of 1.4.2 so it wouldn't of occurred in my play through anyway by the sounds of it.

It’s for fun. If you don’t like it don’t play it.

It an understandable problem. I have abandoned so many children and gigantic factions, millions upon millions of denars , dozens of good friends and gallons of blood washed off my hands.

I suggest saving an extra copy of you saves before you update to new versions, if you're attached to that playthrough. Then just roll back to an the version you had before, if you have problems, and pasting in the back up save.

I do however wish they would make better use of the beta/stable system and more rigidly add updates to the beta first and leave stable alone until they know it's working. Twice now they've done an update to both at once that caused problems.

Your last point is exactly spot on. Why even have a beta if they can't figure out their **** before they send it to stable.

Wow ok, when I spend 50 I expect to be able to play it and your response reeks of a dev ass kisser.

You can play it. The new modules don't break your save games. The game is just telling you that there are different modules.

Um it did actually break my save games. The instant siege wins are game breaking.

When I say it doesn't break your saved games, I mean they will load after a rollback.

If you actually saved over your old game while watching the map change colors as fast as armies could move and put up siege camps, that's on you.

Apparently several people did a rollback and their rollbacks were broken as well. I will try that and NO I did not save with that broken and worthless patch.

Those bugs shouldn't be there in the first place, but they'll fix it soon.
Meanwhile keep it civil, no need for hostilities.
