What's the difference between SandBox mode and Campaign mode

I always played the Campaign mode, then today I just realized we have a sandbox mode

So what's the difference?? I only notice the initial birth place belong to your culture, no more main missions, what else the difference???

No main mission and you don´t start with a brother/sister, that´s pretty much all that´s different.

You get to choose your starting age.
