CASPIAN warns that implantable RFID tags will destroy privacy and pose health risks (Malignant tumors have been discovered in some animals at the site of the implant).

No they haven't. Or at least not in any published study.

When the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved implanting microchips in humans, the manufacturer said it would save lives, letting doctors scan the tiny transponders to access patients' medical records almost instantly. The FDA found "reasonable assurance" the device was safe, and a sub-agency even called it one of 2005's top "innovative technologies."

But neither the company nor the regulators publicly mentioned this: A series of veterinary and toxicology studies, dating to the mid-1990s, stated that chip implants had "induced" malignant tumors in some lab mice and rats.

"The transponders were the cause of the tumors," said Keith Johnson, a retired toxicologic pathologist, explaining in a phone interview the findings of a 1996 study he led at the Dow Chemical Co. in Midland, Mich.

Leading cancer specialists reviewed the research for The Associated Press and, while cautioning that animal test results do not necessarily apply to humans, said the findings troubled them. Some said they would not allow family members to receive implants, and all urged further research before the glass-encased transponders are widely implanted in people.

And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and [upon] them which worshipped his image. Rev 16

watch for the spear throw at the end...

You all got mowed down outside the castle instead of closing the gate and going back to defend the door. Not a very smooth move.

Also, 100% working ad? No big deal. Ad cut off by poor page design? Curiosity > 9000!

THere are two "Washington" magazines. One is extremely right; the other, extremely left. I think the Post is the right one.
The Washington Post is the main DC newspaper...and one of the three major daily US papers. Plus, to say that any major newspaper in the US is "extremely" anything is silly.

It sometimes thought of as "right" of the New York Times, but not so far "right" as the Wall Street Journal...but the distance between these papers ideologically is quite small. NYT focuses more internationally, WSJ on the financial sector (thus appears right-leaning), and the Post is largely domestic/politics focused.

The Washington Post is the left-leaning one (I read it daily). The Washington Times is the propaganda one that not many people buy.
