What's in the box?

Because I'm unobservant, I didn't even notice the storage box in the tavern until I read about it here.

I checked it out but my box is empty. Is that because I've already got high level armour and weapons or was it nerfed in.704?

When Armagan first introduced the storage chest to the game ... he had some really high level items in it.

The next patch, he removed the items. It was an accident ... he forgot to take the items out, I believe.

Hmmm had completely forgotten about that box.

Anyhoo, just checked it with my current char and a new char and got an empty box for both.
Though I vaguely remember there being at least something in it for my old char in version .632...I think. So maybe it got changed, or maybe my memory blows.

I believe that the first version it was available in was 0.700 ... but I'm not positive.

I do, however, know that it wasn't in 0.632.

Yep you're right, it must've been .700. Just remembered that I never even played .632, but stayed with a version older than that for quite some time until I finally upgraded to .700.

And if someone really wanted the items that used to be in the chest you could just as well use the cheats to get s'more money and buy the items yerself.

I got a kick out of finding all that good stuff in the chest and I used or sold all of it, but I don't miss it. I just thought it was fun at the time, since it was such a short lived update no harm was done anyway.

I use it for storing those weapons I get that I (or Marnid and Borcha) can't use yet. Currently I have put a Khergit Bow in it. If we ever get seperate inventories for our horses I would probably put all my horse equipment in it to hold until I was a decent rider.

I use it to store top-notch equipment that I'm unable to use early on in the game, in the endgame I use it to store alternate sets of equipment so that I don't have to spend points on inventory management. It's useful enough.

Yes, the point of the storage chest is it is to be used for storage of items, not to recieve presents from a mystery admirer!
If you find good stuff early that you cannot use or would like to use a different class of weapon for a time, its there - and can save you valuable inventory space and burdening.

Hmmm I think it would be really cool if you could keep your unused horses in Zendar stables(near the constable).

I think that this is some kind of chalenge for the mod makers.

Maybe I will give it a try someday and mod something like this.
