What would happen if . . .

Hey, right, to the point of this topic. I have been a loyal vassal of the vaegirs for a number of in-game years now, and have helped them on several conquests. I have recently taken a castle, Derachois (sp?) and a city (Sargoth), however i had to give up my vassal-ship in order to gain these places, mainly the ciy, as the king was being stingy and was not giving the city to me as a fair reward for wasting my knights. So i am wondering what will happen to my controled castle and city if i try to rejoin the vaegirs? Will i have to lose them and they will get distrubuted among the vegair lords? Or will i keep them under my control.

If you join them i think you lose all castles, cause if you swap factions you lose them so joining them will probably do the same.

i usually take a couple of towns and castles before joining any faction, and i never loose it when i join. However i do not get an additional fief when i join since i already have alot of land.

Like widde said, if you quit your faction because you don't want to give up a castle or town you took, you can quit and keep them.  I've never just up and resigned, so I don't know what happens there.

But if you do that, you'll be a rebel and your former group will attack your castles and such, so be ready.  If you DO quit, however, you can join another faction with the land you already had.

I started out at Khergit and got upset because I never got a castle, so the next one I took, I rebelled when he didn't offer it to me, then went to the Vaegirs and allied with them, which let me keep my castle.  I ended up doing the same after taking Sargoth, and joined Swadia, keeping the two castles I'd taken and Sargoth.

It's all about playing the factions against each other.  Just make sure you know where the next king/claimant is to minimize time spent as a rebel.

I do know that if you join another faction, you keep everything you own, and they become a part of that faction. So if you have a castle + village and a town, and you join the Nords, they will be yours and turn into a Nord castle + village and town.

Well i decided that i couldnt really live with my decision, i like the structure of being in a faction . So i went to rejoin, the king only allowed me to after taking Sargoth in payment of re-newing my oath, sigh. So i set out again on my adventure, however after retaking a castle for the Vaegirs and refusing any reward the king suddenly presents me with Sargoth for my services haha, oh the irony, so basically the last 4 hours of my life have been waste, well not that wasted  you could say i do now have a city under my belt too now
