What to use money on.

I have 200k gold, and my kingdom is doing poorly, i have no fiefs whatsoever and can't conquer anything even though i have 250 units.
I already have caravans which get me gold and still need a long way to go to have enough influence to win a battle and earn the castle (they just give it to others).

I am really shocked so many people seem to have issues with getting their first castle. I have done about 6 different starts now and always get a holding pretty quickly and if I don't get the first holding to come up, I seem to be a candidate for the next and the next until they give me a castle whether or not I want it. I even had on run where I didn't want the castle they gave me so I let it get conquered so they gave me the next castle which I also didn't want and let get conquered. Ironically they went back and captured that same castle and gave it too me again. All this was without any interaction by me, I didn't vote or anything.

You cant do so much with money right now. I have on my Khuzait Horde run 4m Denars. Most of it comes from Looting other Armies and from my Citys. Have 2 Caravans but they seem obselete for me.(they make about thousend denar each?) Im not happy how they made up the finance in this game. In The early game you can afford just Troops and food, while you try to buy some cheap wares to sell them in the next City. in the middle Game after you got your first settlement Trading was obselete for my run. I got so much Money from the workshop and just from fighting and selling the loot/slaves. I didnt even looked for a good Trade. Caravans are nice, but too expensive. You cant afford them when you need them and later you dont even feel their inpact.

yeah buy my kingdom lost like 4 castles in a row and is losing war pretty badly, so even if i conquer one, it'll give it to the ones who owned capitals previously

I think the way its coded is, that the leader trys to give the clans with less fiefs the new captured fief. If you lost a fief to an enemy and your Allies take it back, the ruler always gived the fief back to the one who owned it before. Atleast in my run

Yeah like i said in the other comment, i think the ruler gives the castle back the to owener if you recapture it, regardless of votes (got my castle back where 80% of the clan voted for other people)
