What to do with my lords?

I just got my first town and already had 2castles, is it normal to get 3lords per town? Because that's how many I could add when I already had 1 from the first town. I'm wondering what I should do with them, do I give them castles? Should I give them troops? The problem I see with giving them castles is I can't access the garrison which is quite annoying. So what should I do with them?

I always garrison up the castles and then when it has around 200 troops give it to my Lords. Towns I keep one from every faction and the rest I give to my lords once I store around 400 troops in the garrison (sometimes less)

All I do is everytime I take a castle I hire a lord and give him that castle and fief. I always keep one castle, not town for my self as well as a fief. It usually garrisons itself up by sometime. It works out perfectly for me. And the best starting castle is Chalbek Castle in my opinion.

You can do anything you want with your lords. I personally use them to help my garrisons but there are times I use it to help me siege castles if their resting city is nearby.
