What to do with captured leaders?

Good evening,

I recently captured a few army/vassal leaders and I can't 'sell' them to that Indian
fella in Kuhtu and I can't release them. I heard the faction were the leaders belong
will buy them off but I have a gang leader which his gang is disbanded,is there a way
to lose him?

AFAIK, if there's no gang left to buy the leader, then you're out of luck 

Eventually he'll run away...

Try having yourself defeated in battle.

Capture one of the hotels or fortresses and leave him in prison.

This used to happen to me all the time. Just take the prisoner with you, and lose a battle.
