Just a suggestion, but maybe it would have been good to mention in the changelog (IN GIANT LETTERS AT THE TOP) that $#@*&! bandit parties can now join together if in range??? Hi 117 versus 9
 
Yeah I saw that, incidentally I'm still on 1.113 and noticed 200 odd forest bandits ganging up on one swadian lord.  They wiped the floor with him and then charged me, but because they currently can't team up vs a player I could easily dispatch them in groups of 30 and 50.

Will certainly make areas like the steppes and the desert perilous even to mid sized parties.

And Sea Raiders.  This ought to be interesting.
 
Dude. I'm trapped in Rivacheg with a nine-man party - just me and my companions.

I'm waiting until some mercs show up in the tavern or a lord comes by... one step outside and they're totally going to drink from my skull.

I count ~200 here. And they're all in range.
 
I take it you don't have a mounted party so you can't flee northwards.  At least sea raiders are relatively slow.
 
Just found out about sea raiders mass attacking..the hard way. had a force of 52, all mounted, being chased by 38 sea raiders. I can beat them, no problem, but when the battle starts every sea raider group within sight joins in. It was 52 versus 161. Surgery of 7 kept my deaths to 10 but 33 of the other 42 were wounded. Set my plans back about three weeks.
 
I`m the marshall of Swadia.I was followed by 5 lords, every single one with atleast 100 soldiers.We were killed by 8-9 groups of Raiders:
681 vs 799 Sea Raiders.We were hostages,until 5 lords of the vaegirs, and 5 of our didn`t kill them.
 
What, you can't beat up a few hundred Sea Raiders? :smile:  I haven't played after the update yet but I'm picking a fight!!

Yeah, they're mean bastards that's for sure. Apply some hit-and-run tactics until their numbers are down to where you can rush them (while you still have your horse that is).
 
So I guess they didn't tone it down like they were thinking they might.
I complained about this during betatesting. The join radius is too big.
 
They killed my horsey with one single hit(one for every 5 raiders that is :grin:).So we got pretty much killed :sad:

Yeah, they're mean bastards that's for sure. Apply some hit-and-run tactics until their numbers are down to where you can rush them (while you still have your horse that is).
Or just play a Kherg and keep your distance.
 
I love this update and wanted it forever... I hate killing 200 men 9 at a time. Honestly, when merching, every bandit in the kingdoms should be after my goods and cash... that much loot will make even enemies co-operate for a short while. Not to mention they all use the same lair. It means that people may actually have to respect the rules of the roads. As for those people losing their horses... well... your problem.

I keep several chargers in my storage in case my mount gets low health and the battle has much more to go. my heroes are all permanent escorts of me, and if all else fails, my entire army is cavalry. A bit of care and you should never lose your horse. If you do, order a hero to dismount...
 
I like the idea of them joining together but the radius is definitely too big, especially considering the highly populated bandit areas usually have like 3-4+ groups all within range.
