What the hell US!

We'd be the only team with latency issues. So what servers would we play on? US or Euro? All the other matches would be on Euro servers. It would be unfair for us to play all of ours on Euro servers, though. Then again, it's also unfair to make all the Euros fight us on US servers. It's unnecessarily complicated.

I move to rename the Nations Cup to the Euro Cup.

We'll have an AmeriCup later.

Might even do states or regions instead of countries, 'cause we're so pro and big like that.
Each match has two maps played. The first map will be played on a server on Team 1's continent and the second map will be played on a server on Team 2's continent. Even Australians are participating, with 300 ping it might become a problem but's its a World Cup after all.

Still waiting to here if any other individuals and /or clans want to participate. It starts june 1st, so I imagine we should have a team assembled by sometime next week. I think the most important thing when assembling the team is to make sure all can actually play together first.

When I feel perky later after I've had my coffee I'll edit the top post with a list of interested parties so far.

Also it might help to list your specialty as melee, archer or cav roles as a good time will need them all. I have a slight grasp of some people's melee/duel skills that I've played but I am unfortunately pretty noob at battle and/or not too familiar with everyone unfortunately

i would participate in this event but im not sure if i would be able to make the matches yet. Depending on the times they are scheduled, and the time i work.

In any case my name is out there and i will do battle if i can.

Count me in (I play under 2 names Smitty5 or Mack) Saw ya last night Reapy cutting them up with a 2 hander.

Maybe us Canadians can piggy back on the US untill we get enough to form our own team

thanks

Time zone differences are another problem.

... but you can sign me up anyway.

I'm only speaking on behalf of my self, as I don't know about this regarding my clanmates.

One more here...

Ok so I'm nearing my capacity for maintenance here.

Based on what I've seen in terms of interest here, I would recommend that Robert and Orion co captain this bad boy into the future.

Try to grab from all clans if you can while forming the team, but I know you both have rosters to pull from in the event of missing people and at least fielding a team.

What do you guys think?

I hate to be the rain prophet here, but there are just too many US players to organize a single team.  I foresee people being left out and feelings being hurt.  The best players on our continent would steamroll everybody if anyone could get them together, but it's a gargantuan task.  Anyone who can pull it off has my respect.

Yeah honestly just trying to get the ball rolling here to help out the cup. I don't really want to take charge of organizing people. I swore that off after I quit wow

I'm down to team up Reapy.  I focus on melee, shield and spear/sword.

My in game name is Luckman

There aren't enough US clans with active members.  We can't even schedule hardly any scrims and get people to show up :S

You guys should have a revolution and unite to make a super clan. Then you can travel around different clan servers enforcing your way of playing Warband on them.

Thats not a bad idea, but I doubt clans would listen.

I think Orion and Robert would be a fine pair of leaders. Marnid's level headed and has a keen eye for quality merchandise, and Robert has the whole hero thing going for him.

As for feelings hurt: good luck captains. We're going to have a lot of benchwarmers (which isn't really a bad thing I think).

I'm level headed? What gigantic rock have you been living under? It didn't fall on you and hurt your head did it?

Well uh... hmmm. It starts June 1st, right?

And we need a team of, what, 8? I need to go re-read the thread. If I'm splitting leadership, I'd suggest that I'll pick a pool of players I'd like on the team, Robert picks a pool, we'll throw in the players that match in our pools, and we'll figure out who else to add if it doesn't come up even.
