What purpose do the Sarranids serve?

Need a hill though, crossbowmen on a hill = dead mamlukes no hill = dead crossbowmen.

If I have a hill(which I normally do) I park my X bows on the top, with the infantry in front a little lower. They stay there during the entire fight, cept maybe the infantry. I then take my Cav(Swadian Knights and men at arms) and charge the enemy. I can keep them pretty easily doing this, but I actually started doing this to fight the Rhodoks. I could kill an army of 100+ with about 20 men doing this. (Trick being to stay mobile and keep the enemy milling around while your x bows pick them off, the infantry protect the x bowmen from any one that gets through.)

If no hill, but a river, same thing but the infantry in the river and the X bows on top of the bank.

if a flat plain, have the infantry charge with the cav and have the xbows set up on a flank.

They have Mamlukes. Cavalry equal to Swadian knights when it comes to efficiency, but a good deal cheaper and easier to train. My preffered cavalry force, as I'm usually with the Nords and at war with Swadia, so Swadian knights would have horrible morale.

i just feel there is something missing with the sarranids, they are like... the black sheep...

They serve no purpose.  If I had my way we'd just take the ****ty Khergit horse archers and ****ty (insert derogative terrorist name here) Sarranids and flush'em down the toilet.  I pretty much just avoid that entire side of the map lol, screw you steppe bandits!

And what you care for should matter to me why? I already know it offended someone and I'm sorry that it did, and if you hadn't changed it I would have.
