What new options does new mod system give modders?

Howdy there,

I'm a mod lover and looking forward to all the great working coming out of the good people on this forum. 

Here is my question:  Now that you've had some time to digest the new mod system and check out it's capabilities, what does the new system offer? 

For example, I know that now there is the ability to interact with things in M&B (ie:  training ground targets) and this opens up the possibilities of catapults? opening doors?  perhaps some puzzles or levers for dungeons?  What wonderful new things might the new system make possible from our local mod wizards?  Also, include thoughts like if it makes modding easier/harder, etc.  Also, if you wanted to speculate what the coding implies Armagan might be working on including in the game I wouldn't necessarily complain.
